++ the manufacturing process of Microsoft Lumia mobile phones is discontinued, but many of them are still in action and competitive. In my opinion, the timing for their launch alongside the first versions of Windows 10 mobile has been a problem (later versions of Windows 10 mobile are more competitive). I compare the path of Microsoft Lumia phones with the path of Mercedes F1 Team. If you have perseverance, you can win, but you need to have realistic intermediary goals. You must not be number one from the start, but rather be on the field, with competitive, distinctive devices (1% market share can be achieved with the core fans of Microsoft Windows). 1% is not a small number of users & translates to even more when we focus on Windows users. So my question is for Microsoft & fans // is it possible to continue the manufacturing process of Microsoft Lumias for the fans of the brand & Windows ? // ++  #theWindowsthatneversleeps +

    so, barring some miracle, like a white knight on a steed riding in to resurrect the support system for win 10 mobile,  the lumia line of phone will be pretty much obsolete end of 2019. even the 950xl line which actually has a replaceable battery.

    So pls don't kill Windows Phone and please give Continuous updates. 

    It seems that too many people are not aware that Windows Phone/Mobile is already officially dead since half a year and unofficially dead for at least 3 years now. There is nothing to debate, it is already done and Microsoft have not just turned the page and closed the chapter, but put the book into the archives. There will be no more software nor hardware development, only bug fixes and security patches, i.e. basic maintenance until the official end of line support.

    I'm not sure, I do not understand. What I personally see, that MS invested lot of energy to build a cross device platform (UWP), and just after it was finished, they removed one pretty important pillar, the mobile phone.

    It's very, very simple. The important pillar covered less than 1% of the market, which makes it very unimportant, and no developer would waste their time and effort for that sort of return, no matter how easy it is to do it. The platform was already doomed by the lack of support from major networks and the lack of apps, UWP was too little too late to save it.

    Brutal realities carry equally brutal consequences. The market outreach the phones had created, if forced to collapse with brutality, might, unexpectedly, drain off with some currently profitable products. Not to mention irreversible image issues that competing companies will exploit with glee.
