++ for me Windows is unique, but if other mobile OS adopt related user interfaces, that might help to save & upgrade live tiles on Windows 10 in general ++ would have been great to have a competitive mobile OS market with many strong players, but it seems that Microsoft's losses were too big & they could not resist in this competitive market (in Formula 1 teams resist even though they have little chance to score points: some teams hope that things will change; others are happy to be part of the sport; others are junior teams & so experimental grounds for the big teams) //

• Microsoft can be an 1 trillion + company with the help of a successful mobile division // they have acquired some game development studios, GitHub for many billions // as of current knowledge a successful mobile devices plant can be established under 1 billion // there is app development for other platforms maybe to score some revenue, maybe to show the company's apps //

• let's say the smartphone market is 1 000 000 000 & Windows Phone accounts for 0.32% (https://www.netmarketshare.com/operating-system-market-share.asp). Is this nothing // every costumer counts and here still are many hundred thousands (a real army) // in the Windows Store apps are updated regularly ++ those which survive // in 2015 the market share has been approximately 3% // I compare this poor strategy to an aircraft diving towards the ground // such great products are poorly defended // the Windows Phone flagships have been launched in Q4 2015 (still competitive in many ways ++ the rivals have had great problems in this time frame, but hided them with their PR)//

there is a distructive speech & I know even Wikipedia mentions that mainstream support ends for Windows 10 Mobile in Q4 2019, but until then we hope for the Wind of Change // a Surface Journal or Note could be great, but will not replace smartphones & do not expect spectacular market shares // Microsoft is responsible in part for Apple's great success & makes a great mistake if exits this market // later there will be even greater entry barriers //  There are still people who enjoy phones that are working like the Windows PC //

I understood the technical reasons but if Microsoft abandons a product with no next generation upgrades, then better incentives should be offered to loyal customers and fans. I invested a pretty good amount of money in devices that became obsolete. The great ship Microsoft sails on but we abandon ship or fork out big bucks for the next great thing. Now the Lumia 950 is receiving update support but many companies don't seem to know that. I wish Microsoft would make it known. The apps are dying, receiving no further updating from the companies. Sadly the Lumia 950 will become nearly useless. The Microsoft Store is offering a trade-in value of up to $350.00 USD to buy the new Samsung S9. You have to go into the store to get the evaluation. I checked with AT&T where I bought it, they are offering $19.00 USD for it lol :(
