++ the future of Microsoft Lumia mobile phones ++

++ the manufacturing process of Microsoft Lumia mobile phones is discontinued, but many of them are still in action and competitive. In my opinion, the timing for their launch alongside the first versions of Windows 10 mobile has been a problem (later versions of Windows 10 mobile are more competitive). I compare the path of Microsoft Lumia phones with the path of Mercedes F1 Team. If you have perseverance, you can win, but you need to have realistic intermediary goals. You must not be number one from the start, but rather be on the field, with competitive, distinctive devices (1% market share can be achieved with the core fans of Microsoft Windows). 1% is not a small number of users & translates to even more when we focus on Windows users. So my question is for Microsoft & fans // is it possible to continue the manufacturing process of Microsoft Lumias for the fans of the brand & Windows ? // ++  #theWindowsthatneversleeps +

    • great to hear that the Chris' Lumia XL is still active & hope that still useful ++ in previous discussions the contributors have specified that the app in question is a third party app so its functionality it depends primarily on that third party support, which at the moment may be discontinued

++ as an average user do not need the app & can use the standard Microsoft app //

++ when they will have time more experienced users may provide better answers ++ still try to use your Lumia //

As sort of a final post in this discussion series - props to all for their insight and general civility - I'm offering this link:

    https://www.windowscentral.com/windows-core-os

I found the article valuable for 2 reasons.

First, it's only a month old which makes it reasonably recent and therefore reflective of current analysis rather than past thinking. Second, I think it clearly lays out MS reasoning for a path forward given the history and embedded base of devices running various flavors of the Windows OS.

I think that it also clearly indicates why MS itself would have no solid business reason to give much thought, if any, to making their future development backward compatible.
