++ the manufacturing process of Microsoft Lumia mobile phones is discontinued, but many of them are still in action and competitive. In my opinion, the timing for their launch alongside the first versions of Windows 10 mobile has been a problem (later versions of Windows 10 mobile are more competitive). I compare the path of Microsoft Lumia phones with the path of Mercedes F1 Team. If you have perseverance, you can win, but you need to have realistic intermediary goals. You must not be number one from the start, but rather be on the field, with competitive, distinctive devices (1% market share can be achieved with the core fans of Microsoft Windows). 1% is not a small number of users & translates to even more when we focus on Windows users. So my question is for Microsoft & fans // is it possible to continue the manufacturing process of Microsoft Lumias for the fans of the brand & Windows ? // ++  #theWindowsthatneversleeps +

    I think that abandoning Windows Phone was a bad idea, considering the volatility of the market, growth in developing countries, and especially considering that phones are consumer items which may have a life of only a few years.  The well-known alternatives are the overpriced Apple iPhone line and the irritatingly omnipresent Andrrhoid.

    As for Gurgle, with their data practices I can't see that it would long before they are embroiled in a nasty Fakebook-like scandal.  An opportunity to resurrect Windows Phone is probably just around the corner.

    • thanks for the info, initially I have thought that it came with Windows 10 & now we know that it has been a serious project since 2013 with its first deployment on Windows Phone 8.1 in 2014 // Windows Phone has been unique in many ways & in the smartphone market one cannot be completely different for a great timeframe // in my opinion a company has to compete like in F1 : there are some standards, which has to be observed by every player, but there is also enough room for differentiation in every feature category // when a product has great potential, a company can improve on marketing strategy //

    • Microsoft Launcher does not launch MS Edge, Windows Mobile, brand loyalty, Microsoft heritage. Can launch some important apps adapted for other platforms & can be a testing ground for future purposes. Windows (10) Mobile is simply Windows & this has great significance : I have still a lot to learn about Windows & for me it is enough a Lumia line launch in a 3-5 year timeframe. The average smartphone users renew their collection at approximately 2.9 years, so Windows Mobile users can improve this record : at least this is possible //

    • some analysts are thinking like you, BASIN, but not the majority of them : the facts are saying that the Surface line is in a growing process, office core apps have more than 500 million downloads on the open rival platform & there are over 100 million downloads for OneNote & Outlook (these 100 million users can opt to try Windows Mobile). ZDnet has some interesting articles as well on Windows 10 mobile, just hit search : bring back Windows 10 mobile //
