++ the future of Microsoft Lumia mobile phones ++

++ the manufacturing process of Microsoft Lumia mobile phones is discontinued, but many of them are still in action and competitive. In my opinion, the timing for their launch alongside the first versions of Windows 10 mobile has been a problem (later versions of Windows 10 mobile are more competitive). I compare the path of Microsoft Lumia phones with the path of Mercedes F1 Team. If you have perseverance, you can win, but you need to have realistic intermediary goals. You must not be number one from the start, but rather be on the field, with competitive, distinctive devices (1% market share can be achieved with the core fans of Microsoft Windows). 1% is not a small number of users & translates to even more when we focus on Windows users. So my question is for Microsoft & fans // is it possible to continue the manufacturing process of Microsoft Lumias for the fans of the brand & Windows ? // ++  #theWindowsthatneversleeps +

    • & Microsoft apps = Microsoft platform // & we have many great apps, maybe it will be fewer in a couple of months, but let us see the + accomplishments & not what is missing (it is quite appropriate to voice your demand for apps & hope that developers will honor these requests in time) //

    • I will think about a comprehensive motivation & at this moment I only forecast that if the company abandons Windows Mobile (so that the mobile platform will not exist), then Goodbye in 10 years also for its role in the PC world //

    ++ Windows 10 mobile has made one realistic attempt to really scare the competition. In 2015 (a year when Messi won the Champions League) they really provided a challenge (but without Continuum - like Barcelona in the Champions League).

    ++ the reinforcing effect of Windows Phone on the UWP is significant (e.g. mobile banking apps are disappearing from the UWP, because mobile is important in this field )

    ++ the slogan of Microsoft Lumia 435 has been "never compromise" & I think with a complete Windows ecosystem the company can afford that slogan effectively in order to promote its value system & vision //

    ++ maintaining hobby branches shows company strength (indirect benefits are important & also keeping in action the hope, which generates vision & future development)

    • thanks for every + argument & also critics from which we learn more // a possible argument for Windows 10 mobile devices can be the fact that in this year probably Windows 10 will overtake Windows 7 in the PC OS market & I think there is a real chance that 10% to 20% of Windows 10 PC users would like a Windows 10 mobile device //

     + Samsung is set to score a foldable smartphone entry & I think before Microsoft follows that lead, it would be great to launch a strengthened Lumia line // this can help reinforce Windows 10 users & aid Bing & Microsoft Edge //

    ++ the company could launch a Lumia line every 3 or 4 or 5 years, profiting from the sustainability of these devices // a clear differentiation feature can be sustainability (with a thorough service process & providing a well adjusted supply of removable spare parts, e.g. covers, batteries ) //

    ++ it would be interesting to know that from the 100+ million Lumias manufactured how many are in action (it could be over 20 million) ++ as a statistical data the global smartphone market is approximately 2.5 billion //

    • Ballmer is involved in projects such as USAFacts, Los Angeles clippers & the Ballmer group, but also is a loyal Microsoft shareholder & as past leaders may have (or may have not) an important opinion, the man still expresses his views in discussions with great ratings //
    • a big - for Ballmer, because the Los Angeles Clippers does not have an app in the Microsoft store, although their city rivals still have one //
    • as in F1 is better to have more engine manufacturers & teams, so in the smartphone market is better to have more competition, more incentives for innovation //
