++ the manufacturing process of Microsoft Lumia mobile phones is discontinued, but many of them are still in action and competitive. In my opinion, the timing for their launch alongside the first versions of Windows 10 mobile has been a problem (later versions of Windows 10 mobile are more competitive). I compare the path of Microsoft Lumia phones with the path of Mercedes F1 Team. If you have perseverance, you can win, but you need to have realistic intermediary goals. You must not be number one from the start, but rather be on the field, with competitive, distinctive devices (1% market share can be achieved with the core fans of Microsoft Windows). 1% is not a small number of users & translates to even more when we focus on Windows users. Is there a way to get the Mail app on my Lumia 640XL? I was getting a message that the Mail app was out of date, but I just dismissed it until I inadvertently unpinned it from start. It doesn't show up in the list of apps and I can't download the new version from the store. Any thoughts? I did download FlowMail, which will let me get my gmail and yahoo mail, but there's now way that I can see to get my AOL mail. Any help would be appreciated. Paul
When I'm going to acquire a real android phone? Lumia is my only smartphone with camera. To run my Mobile Bank app, I'm using an android emulator at Windows 7 laptop. Guess I can survive with that.

I'd like to add that I held on to my WINDOWS phone as long as I could, but finally switched to Android when too many apps that I needed were no longer supported on the MS side.
As far as an MS fork of Android goes, I doubt it. For my part, the MS Office suite available on Android as well as the TEAMS app, all combined with OneDrive, means that I can do work more or less interchangeably on my phone or laptop and can go back and forth quite a bit on my iPad as well.
If the apps tied to cloud storage allow me to essentially work independent of platform as I can do today, I think it unlikely that I'll feel a strong pull to be a pioneer for MS especially as they've burned me too many times in the past with OS pipe dreams.
+ you have to pay attention, there are still fans of the Lumia line inside Microsoft (just to be there, they have sold in this year some Lumias testing the fan base).
You mean the couple of hundred 650s which someone found lying forgotten in a warehouse ? There no fans, there are no developers left, the whole team was sacked a year ago, there is just a skeleton crew fixing bugs.
