++ the manufacturing process of Microsoft Lumia mobile phones is discontinued, but many of them are still in action and competitive. In my opinion, the timing for their launch alongside the first versions of Windows 10 mobile has been a problem (later versions of Windows 10 mobile are more competitive). I compare the path of Microsoft Lumia phones with the path of Mercedes F1 Team. If you have perseverance, you can win, but you need to have realistic intermediary goals. You must not be number one from the start, but rather be on the field, with competitive, distinctive devices (1% market share can be achieved with the core fans of Microsoft Windows). 1% is not a small number of users & translates to even more when we focus on Windows users. So my question is for Microsoft & fans // is it possible to continue the manufacturing process of Microsoft Lumias for the fans of the brand & Windows ? // ++  #theWindowsthatneversleeps +

    you can not generalize the market share to less than 0.1%, because Microsoft has not promoted globally its phones

    A fact is fact, regardless of how MS promoted or did not promote their phones. 0.5% or even 1% in a couple of countries is still completely irrelevant, plus the numbers are dropping each day.

    Windows Phone is on the radar even if the competition delivers over 1.5 billion devices

    No, it's not on anyone's radar except a handful of die-hard fanatics which are irrelevant. It cannot be on the radar if no devices have been released in over 2 years and the platform was officially discontinued.

    Functional yes, with functionality being reduced on a daily basis. Sustainable definitely not.

    93tid The Microsoft announcement that they are abandoning the mobile platform will drive the prices down. Duh. Its simple market.

    Clearly you know nothing about the history of Wileyfox or Windows 10 Mobile. The Pro was released AFTER MS announced they are abandoning the mobile platform, which was back in November 2017, not now. Duh. It was specifically aimed at businesses - according to Wileyfox's own marketing for the 'Pro', aimed at "Automotive, Education, Government, Healthcare, Logistics, Retail, Telecommunications, Transportation". Wileyfox quotes four main attractions: productivity (boiling down to Office 365, OneDrive, etc.), security (Device Guard, Store-only apps, Bitlocker), Cortana, and support - double Duh. Clearly far from a raging success.

    Market share - less than 0.1%

    Developers have been very clear about the direction of the platform for years, which is why the smart ones dumped it a long time ago.

    DisplayLink's wired Ethernet connection is not currently supported

    Android devices cannot currently enable USB and charge at the same time. This means it will not be possible for your Android device to charge while docked to a DisplayLink enabled docking station.

    I use my Idol 4 pro (the Windows 10 Mobile one)  with docking station (Wavlink WL-UHP3D01G) regularly, and not only the display works but my touch screen works as well. Not to mention the additional 1GB ethernet port and charging. Why would I want to move to other device?

    I for one am just giddy with my Android phone. It does everything! 

    Explain to me how and why any business would trust Microsoft, at least in terms of mobile? 

    There are no new markets for a OS that will be killed off in a year. 

    As some one who used to hype everything Microsoft, i can admit i was wrong. 

    Bye bye mobile!

    Uhhh,,, ok. 

    According to Microsoft, they have pretty much lost focus with Cortana, so bye bye.

    Windows mobile is dead. Its dead. Dead. Dead. So if you have a Windows Phone, throw it very hard against the wall. Cause its dead. Not coming back. dead. 

    There is no chance of a new push towards yet another Microsoft Mobile OS. Cause its dead. Dead. Dead. 

    Edge is going away. IE is going away. Nasty rumor that Windows is indeed going towards a subscription based system. Did I mention that Mobile is dead? No? Mobile is dead. 

    The 3 year policy to support hardware is over, so Mobile is dead. What is it? Dead.
