++ the future of Microsoft Lumia mobile phones ++

++ the manufacturing process of Microsoft Lumia mobile phones is discontinued, but many of them are still in action and competitive. In my opinion, the timing for their launch alongside the first versions of Windows 10 mobile has been a problem (later versions of Windows 10 mobile are more competitive). I compare the path of Microsoft Lumia phones with the path of Mercedes F1 Team. If you have perseverance, you can win, but you need to have realistic intermediary goals. You must not be number one from the start, but rather be on the field, with competitive, distinctive devices (1% market share can be achieved with the core fans of Microsoft Windows). 1% is not a small number of users & translates to even more when we focus on Windows users. So my question is for Microsoft & fans // is it possible to continue the manufacturing process of Microsoft Lumias for the fans of the brand & Windows ? // ++  #theWindowsthatneversleeps +

    • Nokia cannot win without a distinctive OS ecosystem, now they are competing with Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi, Sony, Vivo, Oppo, ZTE on the android platform

    ++ btw Microsoft has bought & developed further only the Lumia line (Windows Mobile)

    Nokia managed to get into the top 10 smartphone sellers in one year starting from zero. Even without a distinctive OS ecosystem you can compete successfully if you know what you are doing and do it right.

    Not correct, Microsoft also continued the development and release of the S30+ handsets range.

    There is no Windows 10 Mobile team any more.

    ++ btw Microsoft has bought a declining Nokia mobile business to save Windows Phone

    and destroyed the global leader Nokia in the process while WP still failed.

    First, for a number of practical and legal reasons, "Lumia" has no future other than that determined by the owner of the trademark whether MS or Nokia. MS has ended production of the Lumia line and Nokia seems to be moving forward with Android OS phones.

    Spot on. For accuracy, it's Nokia's intellectual property and MS ended production of any mobile phones regardless of what they are called.

    If by "Lumia" we are really talking about some Windows OS version cell phone in the future, that might be another discussion, but I would remind you that speculation about a "Surface" phone has been rife for over a year without tangible results.

    Make that at least 3 years.

    May someone correct me, if I'm wrong, but, I am sure Microsoft doesn't lack the science to make a flawless mobile phone.

    Windows Phone 7 was a failure. Windows Phone 8 was the best so far, still a failure. Windows 10 mobile was a total shambles. Microsoft bought the leading mobile phone maker in the world and managed to run it into the ground in 5 years. They are hopeless with regard to mobile phones.

    Abandoning Windows mobile, without another better mobile option, will soon hit back with a very negative big bang.

    It will not have any negative effect whatsoever. They stopped throwing money down a black hole which can only be a good thing.

    ++ personally I campaign for the future of Microsoft Lumia // the comparison with the F1 Team can motivate those responsible with the decision, if they have the vision (the F1 team also has had serious doubts about the future) //

    ++ if a Surface foldable device will be great it has its place on the market on its specific niche (like other competitive products of other manufacturers) // Surface maybe will be a future project, but the Microsoft Lumia line exists with a great smartphone history & millions of devices still in action //

     ++ the CEO can invite the former CEO to develop blueprints for success with some brainstorming sessions ++ they own it to the fans of Windows 10 mobile //
