++ the future of Microsoft Lumia mobile phones ++

I opine ANDROID is still a toy, but microsux pulling a product line that integral to their desktop is sufficient reason to NOT purchase other hardware from them any time in the future. (LUMIA phones have been the only hardware I have purchased featuring microsoft/WINDOWS).

Introducing a product..once again WITHOUT the ability to change the default browser (and not have adblock in this era) was perhaps the most arrogant--and stupid--decision concerning WINDOWS phone.

Apple's idea of a walled garden platform is too restrictive. LINUX is too fractured. Perhaps DEBIAN (for desktop [crashbang OS successor]) and freeBSD (for server/other) will prove a solution for consistency.

I've read a lot of this and I'll summarize...

Lumia was not embraced by new leadership because by that time Lumia sells and Windows 10 Mobile Market Share had dropped significantly. there is a huge cost in maintaining a manufacturing process. I believe they got what they want out of it beyond patents... They did get the Windows 10 devices pushed out so that they could work on the technologies that will be used in mobile. If anything, they should consider licensing Lumia design and name to others. I just don't see anyone building a phone that will probably never come off the 1709. 

The  future with Windows 10 on ARM is different. That is your "Windows 10 Mobile" of the future. With that said, again why would anyone build phones that will not have a version beyond 1709? Anyone wants to build a "phone", or better put a mobile Device that can make phone call and be a computer in your pocket will do so with CURRENT builds of Windows 10, not older builds based on 1709.

As Nokia already started selling Mobile with Android OS. Including now there is no more updates on Windows Mobile 10 OS. So then why Not give us the service through Nokian Service centre that- Remove WinOS from Mobile and Install Android in it.

Many windows compatible apps also been stopped working, as ap owner not wanted to continue supporting apps of windows OS.

Eg- Bloomberg app.

• phone production has been discontinued, because they cannot produce a much better phone than the Lumia 950s (cannot manufacture a game changer, so they optimize the Lumia line waiting for better days). You better sing "They don't care about us" than "This is it" // 

There was a deluded Winphan who kept posting here for 3 years that the Surface phone is definitely going to be released in 2016, then it was 2017, then it was 2018 and finally he posted a month ago that he is moving over to the Nokia/HMD Global forums because he has given up on Windows and MS and got a Nokia Android. I am perfectly willing to wait and see how long it will take you to also wake up and smell the coffee/tea/roses (whatever you prefer).

Phone production was discontinued because it was a hopeless cause and MS cut their losses. Nobody is optimizing the Lumia line, because it no longer exists in the plans of Microsoft and because there is no one left to work on it. I don't understand why you think that "This is it" and "They don't care about us" are mutually exclusive - I think they are both true and valid at the same time.

+  you have to pay attention, there are still fans of the Lumia line inside Microsoft (just to be there, they have sold in this year some Lumias testing the fan base).

You mean the couple of hundred 650s which someone found lying forgotten in a warehouse ? There no fans, there are no developers left, the whole team was sacked a year ago, there is just a skeleton crew fixing bugs.
