++ the future of Microsoft Lumia mobile phones ++

++ the manufacturing process of Microsoft Lumia mobile phones is discontinued, but many of them are still in action and competitive. In my opinion, the timing for their launch alongside the first versions of Windows 10 mobile has been a problem (later versions of Windows 10 mobile are more competitive). I compare the path of Microsoft Lumia phones with the path of Mercedes F1 Team. If you have perseverance, you can win, but you need to have realistic intermediary goals. You must not be number one from the start, but rather be on the field, with competitive, distinctive devices (1% market share can be achieved with the core fans of Microsoft Windows). 1% is not a small number of users & translates to even more when we focus on Windows users. So my question is for Microsoft & fans // is it possible to continue the manufacturing process of Microsoft Lumias for the fans of the brand & Windows ? // ++  #theWindowsthatneversleeps +

    • the Lumia line has been important in smartphone history with unique features, the result of the work of two of the biggest companies in software & mobile hardware development
    • it will be just interesting when Katy Perry will use Sailfish & 10s of millions of units will be manufactured in impressive factories that were interesting for players like HMD global or Foxconn
    • as a user I was talking about Windows Mobile & not MS apps on other OS ++ it is + that the company's mobile offer is platform independent, but do not abandon Windows, because doing so will weaken many things 
    • UWP can certainly be more developed, but how will this look like without the mobile devices section ++ surely it will be much poorer & the work of many developers will be lost

    Acknowledged 93tid.... But, why is Microsoft the only phone in the world with passionate , die-hard, fanatics......to use your own words....?

    What makes you think that ? Are you familiar with Sailfish OS and Jolla ? Or Blackberry ?

    To clarify once again, because some people in this thread insist on shifting the topic of this discussion to territory which suits them better - nobody here is saying that Windows Mobile is a bad OS - the argument is that it is dead and not coming back, regardless of the wishes of a very, very small number of users.

    • even many Android powered device manufacturers would be happy with 1%  market share & in my opinion every 100th user has his or her importance & moreover this 1% is higher when we drill down to professional or business users ++ one such user has stated on Windows Central that : Windows Mobile allows you to do basic checking on many things from the start screen : all to-do tasks; message summaries; weather; upcoming meetings; Skype messages, including photos; fb notices; top news; Cortana recommendations etc. all without opening an app. That means as he walks down the hall between meetings, he can get a full update on what is going on with just holding the phone in 1 hand & what he does need to do next. To see more he just scrolls to the start screen to see the live tiles & optionally then he can drill to the apps or take action : IT HAS BEEN PERFECT & THERE IS NOTHING ELSE LIKE IT ++ like it or not that is the reality of GRANITESTATECOLIN & many other professional users //

    Nokia abandoned phones very long time ago and, to date, the phones they left in the market still function.... Why should someone throw his Microsoft phone against a wall....?

    I never said you should throw your MS phone against the wall, you must be confusing me with someone else. If you are happy with what you can with it, by all means keep it. Although if you only want it for calls and texts, there are phones for $15 which can do that.
