I'm running Windows 10 Pro, Version 1703. Basically, whenever I open a folder, the image thumbnails will flash then disappear, and I've maid sure my "Always show Icons, Not Thumbnails" is unchecked. I have
no idea what the problem is, as that was the only solution I could seem to find. Thank you!
There's a bug with Onedrive! Tech support, please look into it. I discovered this by accident a few nights ago. I usually keep Onedrive turned off when working in my Asus Rog G752VT since it's such a resource hog! It makes everything run slower and
many times I have to wait as I'll see a "not responding" on the tab bar. I turn on OD when I am done with most task and let it run then to sync to the cloud.
Today 5/21/2018. About 2 weeks ago, all of a sudden, my thumbnails wouldn't appear. I went through the web forums and applied the different solutions of clearing caches and running on the command prompt. I repeated a few times. Nothing worked. So frustrating.
A few nights ago, I turn on OD. I then go into my photos file and voila, slowly, one by one, stand alone photos not in file, the thumbnails started to appear. I then started opening larger files and slowly, thumbnails started appear.
So I experimented by turning OD on and off. Sure enough, when OD is off, all I see are icons. Turn on OD and voila, the thumbnails start to propagate. So, there must be a new bug!
I noticed the change from thumbnail to icon when there was an update. It's always some update that screws things up. There was an update and I could see the visual design changes to OD. Please fix it, quick!!!!
The other bug is with the folders. In the my pictures file, the file folders still show icons instead of thumbnails. For fun, I dragged and dropped some folders from the my pictures folder onto my desktop. No change. But when I re-dragged and dropped
them back into the my photos folder, voila, thumbnails appeared on the folder!!!!! Please fix it, quick!!!!!!!
Also, fix OD so that's it's not such a resource hog!!!!!!!! So frustrating to have to keep turning it on and off just so my computer can run more efficiently.
So there you have it..... another bug! I contacted a buddy of mine who has since retired from MS that worked in the OD group to let him know. Maybe he'll figure out something soon!
