Windows 10 update changed my personal settings---WHY???

Feature update to Windows 10, version 1709 just installed itself on my computer. I checked the details of the so-called new features. There's absolutely nothing there that I need or want. But I had no choice. During the update, Microsoft changed my display language and turned on password protected sharing. It also deleted the quick start toolbar from my taskbar. There may be other changes that I haven't found yet.

At no time during the update did I receive any notification about these changes. Every time Windows 10 updates, I have to spend hours tracking down and fixing unwanted changes.

Why do you do these things, Microsoft? Is there a setting that lets me protect my personalization settings from your stupid unwanted "feature" updates?

    Look.

It's as simple as telling the people who do the update debugging and rebuilding that you don't mess with the .dat files, you don't go perusing files related to the important aspects of users' preferences, and you most definitely don't allow the computer to just change the settings at any point.

We're stuck in the decision to use Microsoft because of the few evils, you're not requiring code knowledge in user interfaces (Linux) and you're not bottle necking speeds and trying to create a device that supposedly sits at water damage levels that can be submerged in the Marianas' Trench but can't take a physical fall (Erple).

This is common sense. We shouldn't have to constantly change stuff back and forth. If you gave a log of the updates you put in, a LOT of people would be qualmed. If you focused on what you changed, and kept us in the dark we would probably be just as quieted.

    Except; no.

Apple treats their customers like sheep. Don't, please.

This issue has been discussed and affect few users and have been fixed in the latest build for Windows 10.

If you upgrade to the latest build and same problem persist, then report it through Feedback Hub app.
