Is it possible to permanently delete windows 10 update assistant?

I have a HP laptop (Model: 15-ac121na) using Windows 10 Home and for the last 3months ive been having problems with very slow internet speed. I tried so many different solutions to no avail and eventually i come across a temporary fix of rolling back the driver of the network adapter to version 2023.4.720.2015 however every time i close the laptop or restart it the network adapter updates itself again. This situation is bearable but now suddenly i keep getting window assistant pop ups constantly trying to download 5GB of updates. After giving in on what seems like the 1000th attempt to stop it i let the updates install and upon logging into my laptop i noticed the internet speeds had dropped again, i tried to roll back the driver but the option is now greyed out and i was stuck with just 54kbps on version 2023.58.731.2017!! I uninstalled the updates by going back to the previous windows build and now everything is back to normal (me rolling back the driver every so often) but im still getting windows assistant pop ups trying to install even after i went to control panel and deleted the application!

If anyone could help me with either deleting the assistant permanently or even my dodgy speeds i would be very greatful.

    Tried removing it, only to have it pop up 10 minutes later, remove it again and back it comes. Even with windows update set to disabled, all the task scheduler tasks removed and some really bad language it still comes back. Is there any way to permenantly stop the annoying thing?

    I did everything sugested here and did a system search for any "windows 10 update assistant" and an 817 byte short cut came up so I deleted that as well.

    I followed all the steps mentioned here. After uninstalling windows 10 update assistant  I did a system wide search for windows 10 update assistant. An 877 byte short cut came up and I deleted it using the gutmann method

    You know, with Windows 10, I found out that YOUR settings do NOT matter, Microshaft will reset it all to THEIR preferred settings on the next update!

    What all does Microsoft do when updating your computer?

    1) - Reset your laboriously edited wake settings, so the computer will start itself in the middle of the night, just to check for f'ing updates.

    Are we in an insane asylum here?  It took me 3 hours to disable this horror the last time!

    2) - Revert the setting that gives you the choice of having an update installed later, rather than immediately, while you were in the bathroom for 3 minutes. Either there was no prompt, or the prompt timed out and defaulted to "He's not watching, lets go!"

    3) - Change your desktop wallpaper to an MS Wallpaper!  WHAT security risk did you thwart by that move, Microshaft?

    4) - Reverting your privacy settings to whatever Microshaft's preference is, so they can play Google on your computer.

    5) - If you disabled your WU services completely, you might have peace for some time, but they figured out how to remotely re-enable them, after I had peace for one Year.  That amounts to hacking my system and altering its function. I thought there were stiff prison sentences on that?

    6) - remove ANY software from your computer unasked, without prompt, that their retarded software algorithm deemed "incompatible", even if the stuff was running fine and your choice would have been to keep your software and shoot their update garbage into outer space.

    So two choices:

    1) - Should you use this list for your lawyer to determine if you have a case for a cease and desist letter?

    2) - Should you find out if you'll be safe from intrusion on Windows 8 or Windows 7...?

    And I guarantee you, all that ransom ware was probably not even Russian - likely our own governments had that distributed, to con us into giving up control over our devices.

    Not long from now, you'll need one system that's on-line and the rest of your network is an island, to keep out criminals and corporats

    Any advice, Microsoft folks?  Is option 2 more viable, cheaper and less time consuming than option 1...?

    Hi thanks for replying so quickly

    I tried this and as soon as i close the laptop or turn it off somehow the assistant re installs itself.

    yaa u are right it automatically reinstall after some time plzzz give me a solid solution to permanently g

    et rid off this window ten update assistant
