Yes I know there are some 3rd party solutions to stopping updates.
The point I was trying to make is that Microsoft has many areas in their system that would imply that we can choose to disable or delete items we don't want to accept, but after we make those choices Microsoft re-enables or reinstalls them.
Another area they do this is for wake timers. I would clear a box that allows the item to wake my pc, then sometime later it becomes checked again.
If Microsoft feels they know how my pc should be used, then they should just eliminate the options instead of pretending I have some sort of control over them.
