Windows 10 Fall Creators Update: Remote Desktop Crashes

I just installed the Fall Creators Update on Windows 10/64 bit, and now Remote Desktop  Connection crashes every time I try to connect to another PC running Windows 10 64 bit (which I haven't updated yet). Moreover, my Surface 3, running Windows 10 (but also not yet updated) can successfully connect to the same target PC.

To be clear, the connection goes through. But, invariably, within 30 seconds the Remote Desktop Connection app crashes on the machine running the Fall Creators Update.

Methinks something didn't get tested before the update was rolled out.

Any workarounds or solutions?

Disabling Printer redirect on RDP connection resolved the crashing. Crashing was taking place on a Windows 10 PC using the native Desktop RDP app, not the Windows 10 RDP store app.

    That must be it, then.  The date I mixed up was probably the install date.  So it looks like so far that patch, fixed the RDC crashing issue for me. Fingers crossed.

    There's no quality release for Windows 10 1709 dated December 5th?

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4051963  The latest update for 1709 was released November 30.

    Hi Alden,

    I looks like the features update, dated 5th Dec. seemed to do the trick for me.  After that update install, the RDC was stable along with the printers redirection enabled.  Thanks for responding and your suggestion.

    Hi Susan,

    Actually the latest feature update was apparently the 5th of December, I come to find out when i doubled checked this morning for updates.  I did have the previous update back around Nov 7th.  After the features update this morning, my RDC stayed connected for over 20 min and I think it is stable.  The printers redirection is also enabled as well without any crashes.  So hopefully this sticks.  Thank you for all your help!!
