KB4056892 is Awaiting restart
Unfortunately, when I did a restart it bricked my system. I had a large windows logo on the screen and it just sat there. I rebooted and was able to trigger a repair. The repair said it was backing out the last update as it would not be completely installed.
With KB4056892 is Awaiting restart I did another restart and had the same problem. At the end I was staring at a Windows logo that just sat there.
Again I triggered a repair and the system is now usable. However, Windows Update still says: KB4056892 is Awaiting restart
How do I block it so it doesn't get installed if I have to reboot the machine?

The problem I have is that KB4056892 is waiting to install on the next boot. How do I stop that?

- Block KB4056892 fix update
- Stay tuned
Ok, downloaded 'wushowhide.diagcab' ran the program and it says 'successful' to hide this particular update. Still shows 'waiting for restart' in update section in Settings. Will restart system now and report back the result.
Sys Info:
OS Name Microsoft Windows 10 Home
Version 10.0.16299 Build 16299
OS Manufacturer Microsoft Corporation
System Manufacturer Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.
System Model M61SME-S2
System Type x64-based PC
Processor AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4400+, 2300 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 2 Logical Processor(s)
As expected, update tried to install and 'bricked' the system. It took another sys restore. Checked updates to finally see that this update is hidden.
Admittedly I have an older system but it seems this update has no age discrimination as I have noticed comments from people with newer systems..
Will be using the above 'hide diagcab' file from now on to hide all future updates until I am confident MS has got their proverbial together.
If you are getting the message "already installed" and it is not being offered by WU don't try to install it manually.

Turned computer on jan 6th ,2018 to find windows updated. Results:
Edge broswer now goes to recovery EVERY webpage.
Windows task bar no program listing. Ask bar cannot type anything.
Access to hhd files now freezes and shuts down explorer to return to empty desktop.
Computer is now useless.
Reformat and install everything is fine. Set updates to max postpone date.
Microsft is in for a big lawsuit for doing this! They better fix this or remove this forced update.
