How Do I Block 2018-01 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1709 for x64-based Systems (KB4056892)?

Well this is not really what your asking for but here are the patches for the problems with amd cpu’s both for 32-bit and 64-bit being unable to boot after trying to install the update. It worked for my system.

Thanks. Sorry Partialtripod, not working for me at all (HP notebook, Win 10 (home) 64bit). Following every steps from microsoft and HP sites and had outsourced lots. 

1. reformat / reinstall with keeping files x twice, and without keeping any files x twice
2. Followed 2013 articles (**command prompt > net stop wuauserv, net stop cryptSvc, net stop bits, net stop msiserver, ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old, ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 catroot2.old, net start wuauserv, net start cryptSvc, net start bits, net start msiserver,**and ****‘sfc /scannow'
3. attempt was made after removing every unnecessary software incl Norton360.
4. also purchased and used 3rd party SpeedyFixer setup.
5. attempted to download and install from update Microsoft catalog   https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=
6. Attempt with Trouble shoot > no turning off computer (Starting Bits Service) and no outcome.
7. updated every driver clicking one after another.
8. Lastly using MeiaCreationTool. exc  (total clean install) with same old issue.

HP note book (P7F66PA, bought late 2016). Window 10 (home)

I have updated bios settings and all other Drivers and i git abke to uodate my windows 10 with out any issues.

I did follow as above with same old square. Now It seemed my problem has resolved after reset with usb media from HP (Mine is HP notebook with window 10, 64 bit).  My numerous attempt of window reset/window mediacreation reset was in vain. As you know the problem was “2018-01 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1709 for x64-based Systems (KB4056892) - Installing stops at 99%, resulting in restart 8 hours”.Now I was unable to see such.

Today is 3-6-2018. It is close to 2 months since KB4056887 bricked many older AMD computers (including mine) in early January. My current problem is that Windows Update is currently stuck on KB4056892 (OS build 16299.192). Windows admits that this build still causes frozen computers for older AMD processors. It also says that KB4073291 (OS build 16299.201) fixes the AMD problem. So far I have been unable to skip over the problem build and install the improved one. I will continue to search for a solution.

With Windows 10 Pro you can suspend updates for 35 days. I don't believe Windows 10 Home allows suspension.

1 Click the <Windows Icon> on the very left side of Task Bar

2 Click on the Gear Icon <Settings>

3 Select <Update and Security>

4 If it is not already HiLighted, click on <Windows Update>

5 click on <Advanced Options>

6 move the switch for<Pause Update> to <On>
