KB4056892 is Awaiting restart
Unfortunately, when I did a restart it bricked my system. I had a large windows logo on the screen and it just sat there. I rebooted and was able to trigger a repair. The repair said it was backing out the last update as it would not be completely installed.
With KB4056892 is Awaiting restart I did another restart and had the same problem. At the end I was staring at a Windows logo that just sat there.
Again I triggered a repair and the system is now usable. However, Windows Update still says: KB4056892 is Awaiting restart
How do I block it so it doesn't get installed if I have to reboot the machine?

Unfortunately, for those running outdated microprocessors instead of the modern ones, there will be no support, I'm guessing those over about 8 years old.
Of course one could always change the motherboard but it would be false economy to and a new PC is always a better bet.
AMD site. Maybe more information has come to light for this problem with AMD chips.

I would block the Microsoft patch until they fix it for the amd processors.
If it is true that AMD is really not affected by these vulnerabilities I think my next laptop will have AMD processor .
As it so goes, I am in the process of purchasing a new PC, most probably none Microsoft. Looks like Apple have gained yet another fan
Support only last for so long with software developers and chipset manufacturers sadly, they want us to open our wallets more often!
On the subject of Plasma's, I thought they had gone out with the wind many years back. We have OLED Smart TV's nowadays.
That is freakin' sad.
But, you know, machines do improve over time and computers more than most.
I mean, you could still watch a TV made in 1958 today, if you liked. (and could attach the cable box through the antenna leads like we used to do with our portables back in the 90s) but you wouldn't expect the same performance as you get with a modern plasma set, now would you?
Same with CPUs. They just become obsolete and you have to get a new processor or even a new computer to keep up with technological improvements.
That's just how it is in the 21st Century.

AMD as with many other chipset manufacturers do not care if your current system is outdated as is in my case.
They are only interested in profit otherwise people would simply hold on to their PC's for many years.
