Ok Ric................but what would opening a google music account accomplish? will it still allow me to go through WMP and also use my Amazon music? Amazon music has the option of right clicking on a song and having them send it to wmp.

I have track numbers in front of some of my song names (not title) in my music libarary. How do I get rid of them. They are not in the "name" in WMP. I try to right click and rename and that doesn't work. I try going through properties into details and delete numbers in front of name, but it doesn't stay changed. Tried to edit in WMP and that doesn't work. Nothing I do permenantly changes the name (not title).
Help!!!!!!

2018-02-20T01:23:45+00:00 Hi Ric. I figured it out and have deleted those bad boys and they have stayed!!!!! Somewhere along the line the "administrator" was changed to wma????? Don't know how or who changed that, but I put full control administrator back to me and I was able to delete these track numbers.

2018-02-20T12:26:30+00:00 OK - try this method - on a 'Documents' copy go to Properties Details tab and at the bottom select 'Remove All Properties' (see below) - this will put up a dialogue box that suggests creating a copy with no properties attached - go for that option.
Then list the properties as you want them to appear (including re-titling it in the General Tab) and transfer it back to your main music folder - if it still gets overwritten we'll try clearing your db.
One other thing I should have got you to check (this is the flu effect!) - make sure 'updating' settings in WMP are turned OFF - Organize - Options Library and Privacy tabs. Set as shown in the second image...
