I have track numbers in front of some of my song names (not title) in my music libarary.  How do I get rid of them.  They are not in the "name" in WMP.  I try to right click and rename and that doesn't work.  I try going through properties into details and delete numbers in front of name, but it doesn't stay changed.  Tried to edit in WMP and that doesn't work.  Nothing I do permenantly changes the name (not title).

Help!!!!!!

Is Amazon in the backup at the moment? - if so that should be OK. Otherwise - just update if anything unexpected happens - if all's looking good just gradually move albums back to the music folder.

Ok...............can you advise me how to put my music back into WMP.  My thought:   move my music from computer documents files back into windows music library file and will that automatically populate WMP?

Going to 'My Music' in Users might be preferable - but test moving one album to the library folder and check that it goes in OK - if so probably fine - I'm not regularly using W7 so even I get confused by this three-way system!

Ric,  OMG!!!!!  I just checked my documents file and all the file names are gone and all my music and other files has been run together.  There are no seperate files that I had in the "music" file.   ie:  janet's 50, 60, 70, 80; garys 50's, 60's, alternative music, 80's music, etc.  Over 5000 songs are all run together.  ALL FILES in documents on computer have been alphabitized and no file titles.  I backed  all my music with seperate file names onto flash drive.  Can I put them back from flash drive?

Ric, while we are doing all of this..................I have a question.   Is MS going to come out with another software other than windows 10?  Also, again...........what is a good alternative to WMP that I can also export my amazon music to?  I don't want one too complicated or in depth.  My usage would be:  exporting music from amazon, possibilly ripping a cd, definately backing up onto flash sticks for my car.  That's about it.   Oh...........and listeniing to music on a music player like fiio.  I have windows 10 on my laptop and its a pain in the butt.  Maybe because I am use to windows 7.  Anyway, any help or suggestions welcome.

    Talk tomarrow.
