Ric, you is the bestest. I always wonder what they mean by 'ELEVATED Command Prompt'. I am an old DOS guy. A prompt is a prompt. Just sayin'.
Janet, just breathe. It will be okay. Good job repairing the files!

I have track numbers in front of some of my song names (not title) in my music libarary. How do I get rid of them. They are not in the "name" in WMP. I try to right click and rename and that doesn't work. I try going through properties into details and delete numbers in front of name, but it doesn't stay changed. Tried to edit in WMP and that doesn't work. Nothing I do permenantly changes the name (not title).
Help!!!!!!

Ric, ran the sfc and it said: resource protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them. checked my wmp and it now works. As always and again; thank you, thank you, thank you.
Yes let's run SFC to see if any WMP system files are corrupted...
Follow the on-site directions for Windows 7
Ok summarize: computer: I moved my music back to under "music" folder from documents. There are 5 individual files...ie: Janets music, Garys music, 80's music, etc. In these files, there are duplicate songs......of which I want to stay there. When I did this, wmp populated its libaray withALLsongs, from ALL files. Therefore, there are duplicates now in wmp. I can live with that I guess, but next problem: WMP: the bottom controls to play, stop, previous, next are not working. Also, when I place my mouse over one of the songs it automatically starts playing and when I move my mouse off the song, it stops playing. What's interesting: If I try to play my playlist songs in wmp, the bottom controls work.
Ric....................I totally understand we have been on this forum a long time, but not unjustified. Now, my next problem is my play feature at the bottom of wmp is not working......at all.
Secondly, I think I will take your advice and just learn wmp player in depth. I have liked it in the past. The biggest problem is I cannot find a tutorial or manual on WMP so that I could play around and if I got stuck I wouldn't have to rely on these forums. Do you know where I can get my hands on one???
