track numbers in front of song names in windows music library, windows 7

I have track numbers in front of some of my song names (not title) in my music libarary.  How do I get rid of them.  They are not in the "name" in WMP.  I try to right click and rename and that doesn't work.  I try going through properties into details and delete numbers in front of name, but it doesn't stay changed.  Tried to edit in WMP and that doesn't work.  Nothing I do permenantly changes the name (not title). 

Help!!!!!!

    Yep. That means there is more than one computer in the house trying to access the Modem/WiFi. Windose is not very good at keeping them all separate.

    In our house, at any given moment, we have 5 or 6 computers using the 'network'. Oops, wait, I lied. A half dozen computers and two printers. Windose gets confused and tells us, "There is another computer with the same IP address."

    Sometimes a hot boot (Restart) works. Sometimes a Power Reset (pull the plug and wait two minutes) of the WiFi Modem works.

    No need to worry. But you can be annoyed to the full extent of your ability. :-D

    Aw, c'mon. You gotta share. You renamed them beginning with music?

    Each Filename now begins with 'music'?

    Seriously, I am only asking. I just want to get on the same page you are on.

    So Janet? I just gotta ask: Could there might maybe be 5 individual Folders? In these Folders there are Files (the songs are files, my friend. Just sayin'.)

    Yes, you do want them to stay there.

    WMP has a mind of its own. You are much smarter than WMP and you can tell it what *you* want it to do.

    WMP understands a Playlist. Lord knows how Microsoft interprets the position of a cursor at any given moment.

    This is just me being, um, er, anal, but words mean things, and some folks work hard to keep up with what others are trying to say. The Mouse it still on its Pad. The Cursor might be over the song...

    No worries. We will figure this out!

    Ric, all is good.  Everything seems to be normal......................can i breathe now????  I moved my music back to documents and renamed them beginning with music so all of them are together..........don't have to search.  Moved only one file to music and checked wmp and no duplicates!!!!   So..............now we know.  It works.

    I received a network warning.  It said there is another computer with the same ip address as this one.   What does this mean and do I need to worry about?
