track numbers in front of song names in windows music library, windows 7

I have track numbers in front of some of my song names (not title) in my music libarary.  How do I get rid of them.  They are not in the "name" in WMP.  I try to right click and rename and that doesn't work.  I try going through properties into details and delete numbers in front of name, but it doesn't stay changed.  Tried to edit in WMP and that doesn't work.  Nothing I do permenantly changes the name (not title). 

Help!!!!!!

    Well,  I lied...............it took them 6 minutes to come back on my file!!!  I don't get this!

    Hi Ric.  I figured it out and have deleted those bad boys and they have stayed!!!!!  Somewhere along the line the "administrator" was changed to wma?????  Don't know how or who changed that, but I put full control administrator back to me and I was able to delete these track numbers.

    Ok Ric................but what would opening a google music account accomplish?  will it still allow me to go through WMP and also use my Amazon music?  Amazon music has the option of right clicking on a song and having them send it to wmp.

    Yes - no rush - I'm still recovering from the flu anyway... One way of sorting these tracks out would be to copy them to CD and re-rip them. If that doesn't suit a good alternative would be to open yourself a Google Music account - I'll explain how that works next time. - Cheers, Ric.

    Oh.....and i tried to just delete that #, and it wouldn,t let me.  I went into Wmp and checked the song.  The # is not there.
