Do you want me to move all of them or just one or two?
track numbers in front of song names in windows music library, windows 7
I have track numbers in front of some of my song names (not title) in my music libarary. How do I get rid of them. They are not in the "name" in WMP. I try to right click and rename and that doesn't work. I try going through properties into details and delete numbers in front of name, but it doesn't stay changed. Tried to edit in WMP and that doesn't work. Nothing I do permenantly changes the name (not title).
Help!!!!!!

2018-02-24T18:41:33+00:00 It seems like there are still orphaned files there - we'll probably need to redo the library restore procedure a second time - but first you'll need to see if you can remove or hide the duplicates in the folder (referred to in the second quoted post). It may be worth stopping and restarting WMP but we'll try that later if necessary.

2018-02-24T13:38:52+00:00 Hi - I'll add your last replies here for ease of reference as we're on a new page...
First post about backup copies - they are best kept right away from the music folder - a bit like I was requesting when you were changing the properties - put them in 'Documents' (and then copy from there to an external drive if desired) - that way WMP does not 'see' the copies.
Second post - if the title has changed in one of the copies, WMP will still read both so you need to move or delete the unwanted one. Is this where you are running into the administrator problem? Does the (Details tab) 'Remove All Properties and Personal Information' option work or is that prevented too? Alternative option - Can you make it a 'hidden' file? (Properties General tab) - Thanks, R.
