And NO thumbnail cache deletion occours!
Wait :) it´s 3GB of Thumbnails now! And still working!

Back to the Thumbnail Cache deletion Problem again!
MS please fix this real fast!
I was one of the testers giving information that Win10 always deleted the thumbnailcache.
Sorry page cannot be accessed any more!
All was fine after MS did some fixing with the help of MAAANNNY others that had the same problem!
Now I did the Fall Creators update! BAM! Back again.
Thumbnails get deleted ON EYERY reboot!
Thats really really annoying!
Do not try a solution. There is none!
The failure in the past was a database corruption. MS fixed it ( do not know how) and it worked. Now it is back!
Please dig into it an fix it!

I did both
Setting Autorun to "0" and stopping the Task Scheduler
Now I am at 1 GIG of Thumbnail Cache, BUT this isn´t a permanent fix. As said long before.
Database corruption appears again.
Want seems to help is to turn of "fast shutdown". For now my Thumbs are staying. But I am not completely finished rebulding them all. In preFC3 Win 10 I habe about 2GB database. Half way there.
BUT: All this is ridicolous. This did not appear before FC3 and WE are now doing some crappy (sorry for my wording) tries to find a workaround that will not permanently work.
FIX it MS! We pointed you to the right direction. And no, no feature! Just an annoying, returnig bug!

I am not sure who I am talking to I think it is Frank, I first tried the Task Scheduler way of stopping the Cashe from getting deleted and it worked somewhat It didn't delete all of the cache just a few folders at a time over a few days after I got the last Regedit way I changed the first way back to original and changed The Autorun DWORD to 0 and before I got all the thumbs back in it deleted them all. I am now back on the Task Scheduler version on 2 of my computers
either I am doing something wrong or this is not working
Do you have any other Ideas (maybe do both) ????
I still don't understand why Microsoft doesn't fix this problem or why they wanted to do this.

2017-12-12T22:04:29+00:00 I have also been plagued by this problem since the 1709 update. It is indeed the SilentCleanup task which is deleting the thumbnail cache. This task should only run "when free disk space is running low", it has no triggers of it's own and so is being trigger in error by another process (even though there is ample free disk space).
Rather than disable the SIlentCleanup task completely, you can stop it being triggered by Explorer. To do this, run Regedit and browse to the following path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\VolumeCaches\Thumbnail Cache
Modify Autoruns DWORD and set its value to 0 and reboot your computer.
I can't find Autoruns DWORD but I do see Autorun REG_DWORD in VolumeCaches\Thumbnail Cache
Still trying to find out if Autorun is what you mean instead of Autoruns
