OH NO!

Back to the Thumbnail Cache deletion Problem again!

MS please fix this real fast!

I was one of the testers giving information that Win10 always deleted the thumbnailcache.

https://windows.uservoice.com/forums/265757-windows-feature-suggestions/suggestions/6557758-fix-the-annoying-thumbnail-cache-automatic-deletio?page=1&per\_page=20

Sorry page cannot be accessed any more!

All was fine after MS did some fixing with the help of MAAANNNY others that had the same problem!

Now I did the Fall Creators update! BAM! Back again.

Thumbnails get deleted ON EYERY reboot!

Thats really really annoying!

Do not try a solution. There is none!

The failure in the past was a database corruption. MS fixed it ( do not know how) and it worked. Now it is back!

Please dig into it an fix it!

I have Samsung (1T) SSHD drives on all my 4 computers and it also deletes the cache in the 8 gigs of flash just about every 10 or 12 hours and instead if a 35 second start up time to reverts back to a 3 minute startup time until I restart the computer 10 more times and so on the next day

The flash/disk aspect of your SSHD is not visible to Windows, it will just see it as a drive. The drive itself manages what is stored in the flash portion and when it is moved to the disk portion based on usage patterns. This does mean that some things will vary in load time from boot-to-boot depending on if they are in flash or disk at that time. I guess Windows could be seeing this as a performance problem and so taking maintenance action.

My drive is a Samsung Pro NVMe device with over 60% space free. I have no idea why Windows thinks this requires a disk cleanup.

    Steve,

I do not want to sound superiour or arrogant. But see my second or third post. Thats what I´ve been writing all from the start. WE won´t be able to find a solution.

I doubt it will help, bute here we go!

    Frank

I was on the phone with Microsoft Help line for over an hour

    That didn't help.

I told them all the fixes That have been talked about here and spoke to 2 so called Special Techs

They were both dumb as Stumps

after they wanted money from me to continue (that wasn't going to happen) so they hung up on me.

And then phoned my home number and said that they would not help again,  why I don't know I was nothing but nice on the phone.

There is also a another problem I think is part of the same

I have Samsung (1T) SSHD drives on all my 4 computers and it also deletes the cache in the 8 gigs of flash just about every 10 or 12 hours and instead if a 35 second start up time to reverts back to a 3 minute startup time until I restart the computer 10 more times and so on the next day

That also started as soon as Fall Creators update started, same as the thumbnail problem.

By the way neither of the 2 fixes that have been talked about didn't worked at all for me

I have also formatted and reinstalled a fresh version of 1609 on a new drive (same problem)

    Steve

    Hi,

Your concern is best handled by our other forum. We suggest that you post your concern in our TechNet  forums where we have experts who are more knowledgeable with these kinds of issues.

    Regards.

What makes you think we are not experts? Our replies have been far more knowledgeable than the boiler plate replies we've seen from Microsoft reps. So far the advice has been; submit feedback and go elsewhere. This issue will be affecting every user running the 1709 release.
