Windows 10 update broke my computer?

Hello. I'm quite unhappy with my entire experience. I have had to contact support multiple times because my computer "wasn't on the list" of computers able to run the latest updates. I find this incredibly ironic, as it has 8gb of ram, lots of disk space,  and a very nice processor (~2.6ghz). I have had my agents help me as much as they could, and that wasn't the bad part, they did great! For a day... Somehow, even after they went and did the whole thing about delaying updates for 8 months or so, The Windows 10 update installer app downloaded. It has hogged me for the past week, with me having to abort multiple updates, not wanting to lose my pc again. I am a student, and can not afford a new one, but just recently I gave up and let it update. It quit out halfway through, as usual, and went back to the same condition it was at. Nothing works.

This is not like last time, I had to get a Windows 10 system on a usb, and repair my boot loader last time. This time, Windows simply won't do anything. It's currently telling me the only option left is a hard reset.

I have physically tried everything besides a hard reset. I refuse. Why should I lose my personal belongings, when it's out of my control? This is not an issue with anything except Windows. What can be done about this? I am very disappointed in the fact this has ruined my computer, I really hope you can do something about this.

    Update:

    I bought a DVI to HDMI cable and plugged it in and it worked. I can at least now login and access all my stuff. But I still have no internet access so I don't know what the deal there is

    Since the last "update" I cannot access the Settings. When going into Settings, nothing reacts to  repeated mouse clicks. I cannot make any changes.

    Stop sending updates that have not been properly tested.

    I have a 2018 laptop with built in Win 10 from Acer, not an upgrade. Every update causes the loss of certain settings. 

    I am fed up with MS, and would transfer to Linux or Apple if it were not for the fact that my organisation and others with whom I interact use MS, and I am stuck with MS.  MS sucks.

    If I owned a company, I would fork out the extra money and start with Apple computers or switch if the money was available. The time and money spent on trying to fix all of the problems caused by Microsoft patches would make it worthwhile in the long run. I'm sick and tired of dealing with the blue screen of death and printer settings being wiped out. I won't even reboot my computer because I know I'll have to deal with it again. I'm going to see if I can make it to July without rebooting to get a new laptop when they go on sale for back to school.

    hi im sorry your dealing with that issue. Im dealing with pretty much the exact problem. Did you ever get a solution to correct it? Im so over contacting support & being told I have to buy a windows disk etc. I hope something is figured out. Thank you & Hope your day is well. :)

    Yes a couple months later, after researching, i found that all i had to do was reinstall windows. Go to the Microsoft Windows Download site, and get a memory stick (8GB minimum) and download windows 10 installer to the memory stick. Obviously, you will need to use a different computer to do this. Then put the memory stick into yoyr computer, start it, and ebter the BIOS by hitting one of tge F-keys. Once in BIOS, nake the USB drive the 1st read the computer makes. Then restart your computer & windows installer should start automatically...install it as if it is a blank disk. You will lose all previously saved data. When it asks you for the product key, click "I don't have one". And voila, Windows 10 is back up.

    Now before you reinstall, if you take your gard drive out, you can connect it to another computer via SATA-USB adapter. They are about $12-17 at Best Buy. You can then go through it as if it were a memory stick. Transfer all files you want to keep, to whatever media of choice. Then proceed with reinstalling.
