Windows 10 update broke my computer?

Hello. I'm quite unhappy with my entire experience. I have had to contact support multiple times because my computer "wasn't on the list" of computers able to run the latest updates. I find this incredibly ironic, as it has 8gb of ram, lots of disk space,  and a very nice processor (~2.6ghz). I have had my agents help me as much as they could, and that wasn't the bad part, they did great! For a day... Somehow, even after they went and did the whole thing about delaying updates for 8 months or so, The Windows 10 update installer app downloaded. It has hogged me for the past week, with me having to abort multiple updates, not wanting to lose my pc again. I am a student, and can not afford a new one, but just recently I gave up and let it update. It quit out halfway through, as usual, and went back to the same condition it was at. Nothing works.

This is not like last time, I had to get a Windows 10 system on a usb, and repair my boot loader last time. This time, Windows simply won't do anything. It's currently telling me the only option left is a hard reset.

I have physically tried everything besides a hard reset. I refuse. Why should I lose my personal belongings, when it's out of my control? This is not an issue with anything except Windows. What can be done about this? I am very disappointed in the fact this has ruined my computer, I really hope you can do something about this.

I am so finished with Micro Soft, their Crappiest ever Windows 10!   I have much better things to do with my life than waste days upon days trying to fix every computer, laptop and notebook FORCED to download this evil program.  Virtual Support my ass......look for a virtual customer.  MAC does not have these on-going issues.  If I have to change computers believe me it won't have WINDOWS.  When you manage to snag a real person it's suddenly my computers too old and they can't help.  My laptops wifi adapter gone and MS just shrugs it's shoulders even though it was their forced upgrade that created this.  I WILL NOT UP GRADE TO ANYTHING THAT REQUIRES MICROSOFT!  Technology is imploding on itself.   Thankfully I can easily go back to the way things were. CASH still talks everywhere.

I have been meaning to install linux for the best part of 20 years and this pushed me over the edge to get my head around it so I now have a dual boot system.. I'm finding my feet with linux then will be getting rid of windows altogether!

When I lost everything earlier this year I had to do clean install with no option to keep data.. This was a new dl of windows but as far as I was aware everything was the same so in theory when I was forced to do the dreaded upgrade it should have broken again but it didn't.  Can't fix a problem if you can't replicate it!  Can't wait to delete windows for good!

yes you are right, I think a number of people will be moving away from Microsoft with their update policy, I have a number of installed programmes which the Dec 2018 has managed to break, some reinstalls seem to work with others not working. Extremely frustrating and time consuming waste of time!

Look back on this thread and you'll read my tales of woe.I agree on the lawsuit, there must be more than a few with varying degrees of damaged computers and lost files. Some irreplacable. Calling the help line might get you a walk through with an agent who has been fielding 1000s of calls just like yours. Remember they're not to blame, I had a manager confess that he was as angry about the 'developers' as the users of windows 10. Because the developers don't try it out on a wide enough selection of computers. Apparently I should have updated the BIOS on my laptop, but how was I to know that? Moronsoft just update with no warnings about what should be done before the update. Their baby but they refuse to accept being the parent.

Everything is on mine! Literally my dachshunds that just passed away, taxes, etc, I think there ought to be a class action lawsuit. It is almost like it was done on purpose.
