Windows 10 update broke my computer?

Thank you,  I appreciate you taking the time to reply with the information.  I do have everything up to date with manufacturers,  my HP scanner n printer requires them  a lot and in turn my computer.  The only updates I fall behind on are windows and that's because I stop them as my computer needs for home computer so not need most of the stuff I need or want.  The security updates and general updates I do,  but as far as the bigger updates I stay away just because of so many mishaps with them.   My PC is older and for what it's used for there is no need for the fancy new things that Microsoft puts into the bigger updates,  I don't use cortora,  I use Google and won't change to their new search engine as all my devices are linked and too much info to transfer or start over.  The regular updates go through flawlessly,  it's just these 1903 ..type updates that constantly cause issues and when reading what they include,  there is nothing I want or need from them until an error occurs due to one of them.  My restore points always disappear and I do own external hard drives and I'm probably going to have to buy a new one just for this computer but like I said this computer is used to pay bills and the kids to do homework so I don't need all that fancy stuff. Over the years I've become pretty computer savvy and that's due to trying to correct errors from updates or just errors in other programs. That being said I will look into it just double-check and make sure everything is up to date before I sit for hours this weekend what tech support watching them do all the troubleshooting steps that I've already done and then hope and pray there's something I messed before they say we have to reinstall Windows which usually results in system restore because I need to reinstall Windows 10 has a whole again which I just did two months ago. Thanks so much I appreciate the information and hopefully that's all it is, but with my luck it's going to be a system restore again LOL

Thank you for your reply appreciate a response,  but I do have the automatic updates shut off but this time the problem is my graphics card needs the update that they rolled out because for some reason now my graphics card won't work and it says that Microsoft Windows update for it is necessary.  However ,when I troubleshoot it , the online trouble shooter says nothing wrong,  the one in settings says Microsoft update for driver  required. So I tried to do the update and of course I ran into the same issue as I did last time , failed install. I went to Intel download Center to download the driver , had to do this last time after the system restore the tech did against my wishes,  and when I do that it says that my driver is up-to-date and there's no update. But then I go back to the updater and it says right there that an update is needed for my Intel processor. So this time without even updating my computer they sent something out that screwed up the processor I have and now I need to update and I can't. I wrote Microsoft a nice little letter again and I will be surely spending about 20 hours this weekend with tech support as they fix this problem which I'm the only one in the world that seems to have when I talk to them. I know what I'm in store for,  watch tech do every step I have already done,  there's an hour at least,  then several restarts when things are added and changed,  then eventually will come a "fresh start" been through this so many times and honesty fed up with it.  They need to fix the issues and provide fixes instead of acting like its the first time they have came across this issue.  Sorry venting to you,  but I was up till 1 am,  4 hours trying to repair their screwed up updates.  😢
