Microsoft Digital Image Suite 10

I have used MC Digital Image suite 10 on my PC but had to reset my PC. Now I cannot install the program.  I keep getting the error about Internet Explorer 6 and internet tools and cannot install this program on a 64 bit platform.

I have tried all the fixes on the internet including shutting off Internet Explorer through Control Panel, etc. 

What do I need to do to install this program?

I don't know if this trick works also with your version of Digital Image Suite ...

Try it!

Tested with Picture It! 7 / 9 / 10 and Digital Image Suite 2006

  • Close all open programs and documents and prepare to install DIS or PI
  • Simply start setup from you original disk

Normally you are prompted by User Account Control to give permission, authorize it.

  • Choose the few options available and go on
  • At some point you will be presented with the usual little error window:

  • Click OK
  • Next you will be presented with the second usual error window:

  • Don't click OK now, instead Logoff Sign out the user

The operation cannot be carried out because of that window waiting for intervention.

  • Wait a few seconds and then click on Cancel, you are returned where you left
  • NOW click OK

The installation will end without errors!!!

I wrote Click, not right click!

Even using Right click, you can select "Shut down or sign out" and then Sign out.

Doing this DO NOT shut down your pc but simply close all the programs relative the currently active user and put you at the login page.

But if you do this in the right moment, should happens what described by my New Guide.

    Logre resolver el problema siguiendo las instrucciones que indican Gianni, batalle un poco porque me confunden respecto a los pasos, así como lo repetí varias veces hasta que logré desbloquearlo ...

    Instale Microsoft Digital Image Suite en Windows 10

    * Primero cierre todos los programas en ejecución y abra documentos.

    * Haga doble clic en el archivo de configuración de Imagen Digital Suite de su disco original.

    * Si el control de cuentas de usuario le solicita que autorice, solo autorícelo.

    * Seleccione algunas opciones disponibles. Cuando dice "La actualización de Windows: Internet Explorer y las herramientas de Internet no se puede instalar en esta computadora. Este mensaje no se instala en las plataformas de 64 bits". Haga clic en el botón Aceptar para continuar.

    * Recibirá el segundo error habitual "El programa de instalación detectó que no se completó la instalación de Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0. Es posible que la instalación se haya cancelado o que no haya tenido suficiente espacio libre en su disco". No haga clic en él.

    Vuelva a su escritorio, presione Win + X desde su teclado, haga clic en Apagar o cerrar sesión> Cerrar sesión.

    * La ventana 10 espera la intervención y no puede llevar a cabo la operación. Espere unos segundos para iniciar sesión nuevamente, haga clic en el botón Cancelar> Aceptar. Ahora la instalación funciona bien.

    Thank you Gianni for this work around.  I am very fond of digital image and haven’t foind anything  similar that touches is.  How on earth did you work out the solution!

    I doesn't matter to me how you came about this solution.  I do want you to know that my Windows 10 problem with Microsoft Digital Image 2006 was solved by following your instructions.  Thanks very much.
