Keep getting this error message when I go to sites that used to work to pay my bills.

Can’t connect securely to this page<br><br>This might be because the site uses outdated or unsafe TLS security settings. If this keeps happening, try contacting the website’s owner. <br><br> <br><br>Your TLS security settings aren’t set to the defaults, which could also be causing this error.<br><br><br>Try this:<br><br><ul><br><li><span style="color:#0066cc">Go back to the last page</span></li></ul>

    1. Click in the Cortana search bar next to the Win 10 Start button
    2. Type internet options
    3. Select internet options (control panel) from the list
    4. Click on the advanced tab
    5. Scroll down to the security section
    6. Make sure the following are all clicked:

    Use SSL 3.0

    Use TLS 1.0

    Use TLS 1.1

    Use TLS 1.2

    1. Click apply
    2. Refresh the page that was giving the error and it should now connect.

    Hope this helps, it was a 30 second fix after hours of pounding my head against the error with the Support site suggestions.

    Moderator's note: SSL 3.0 is not secure and has been deprecated for a number of years. No website nowadays should insist on it instead of the more secure TLS options, and users should not be advised to have it selected in the advanced Internet options

    So how do you fix the problem of the TLS -

    I am no way a computer whiz but I do not see a solution listed here?

    Go back to page 2 of this thread about 1/2 way down, a few posts after Adam Levine's rant, a pic is posted showing that you go to Internet properties and go to the "advanced" tab. Make sure that TLS 1.1 and TLS 1.2 are checked.  Worked for me for most pages still having problems with some but sometimes  using IE or Chrome browsers instead of Edge has helped.  Good luck!
