TLS security settings aren’t set to the defaults

Keep getting this error message when I go to sites that used to work to pay my bills.

Can’t connect securely to this page<br><br>This might be because the site uses outdated or unsafe TLS security settings. If this keeps happening, try contacting the website’s owner. <br><br> <br><br>Your TLS security settings aren’t set to the defaults, which could also be causing this error.<br><br><br>Try this:<br><br><ul><br><li><span style="color:#0066cc">Go back to the last page</span></li></ul>

Don't know if you saw my post about what resolved this problem so I'll put it here too. 

The TLS security settings was solved by going to the Start command line and putting in "internet options", going to the "advanced" tab, go down the dropdown list to "security" and make sure there are check marks in : Use SSL 3.0, Use TLS 1.0, Use TLS 1.1, Use TLS 1.2, click on "apply".  That took care of my problems.

I have to clarify that the info I'd received that I needed Internet Explorer is what was incorrect.

Also you can't just go to the dropdowns and change your search engine.  You have to first go to that browsers web page then do the drop downs.

It may be part of Windows 10 but I can't find it anywhere and it turns out that that info was not correct.  I didn't need it to fix my problems.  Anyway I've reported a couple different things that were happening at the same time.  I found somewhere that the problem of my 2 computers keeping the same wallpaper etc. as each other is an option you can utilize to sync your multiple computers.  A Windows update must have set mine to that as I knew nothing about it.  I found it and undid the sync option.

I also found that to change my browser you go to that browser's web page, click on the . . . at the top left of your browser window, in the drop down click on "settings", go down to "view advanced settings", go down to and click on "change search engine" and click on the one you want in the list.

Internet Explorer is already part of Windows 10 and you don't need to download it. Just to clarify, which operating system are you currently using? If you are using Windows 10 and you would like Google Chrome to be your default browser, go to Settings> Apps> Default apps> Web browser and choose Google Chrome. After that, kindly restart your computer.
