Hi,

After updating to the new version, I am seeing high CPU use from two processes:

Any ideas on how to make them not use a lot of CPU so that my laptop cools down and the fan stops blowing?

Hi all,

Had the same problem myself and found the solution which is quite simple :

Go to settings -> update & security -> Windows Defender -> Open Windows Defender -> Firewall & Network protection

Then you need to disable the firewall for all the types of networks

once that's done click on restore settings

That should do the trick and you're cpu usage should return to normal.

Hope it helps, it did for me.

I have exactly the same problem. I want to try the firewall solution but my firewall is provided by Norton. I switch it off but Defender tells me to switch it back on. How do I get Windows Firewall to take over from Norton?

For me, it will show up, the high cpu usage, and I will apply the fix and for some reason it will run well for a couple of days, but then inevitably it returns, and i once again have to apply the fix.

    Hello,

This worked very well for me, but my ram usage is still at 50%, is there something I can do to fix that?

    Thanks 👍
