Update: After another machine's USB keyboard/mouse stopped working I uninstalled KB4074588, rebooted, and the system was working normally.

A recent update (we think KB4074588) has started causing major issues with USB keyboard/mice attached to systems. We have a number of X1Cs and SP4s that recently received this update and are now not able to use USB KBs/mice; the system devices work fine. If we restore the system state we get a BSOD unless the "Disable Driver Signing" option is enabled.
This isn't affecting all PCs with this update, but is raising some concerns on whether there is a bug in the patch. Has anyone else noticed this issue?

2018-02-20T13:15:06+00:00 We had the same thing happen to a few machines...If you're running into a BSOD after a system restore, try booting the PC using the "Disable Driver Signing" option (option 7 I believe) and that may boot up the PC. Then you can disable the signing until this is resolved by running this command: bcdedit.exe /set nointegritychecks on

Again uninstall fixes the isse. Amazing that they don't check for this kind of thing before rolling out these"updates"

2018-02-20T02:19:22+00:00 Add me to the growing list. I appreciate the KB tip as I was just about to go there next. My illuminated Logitech K710 keyboard worked fine if I went into the BIOS, but as soon as Windows started it went dark and didn't work after that update. My Razer mouse, and USB drives did continue to work. Plugged in another USB keyboard and it didn't work. Fortunately my PC has a PS/2 port so I scrounged up an old keyboard and was able to login to uninstall the KB4074588 mentioned. Until Microsoft fixes the problem I expect I'll have to continue to uninstall that update so I'm just leaving my PS/2 keyboard attached in addition to my Logitech keyboard so I know I can get into my system the next time that KB is reinstalled to uninstall it again. I don't know if it only affects certain hardware or motherboards, but it certainly affected mine. I will hope Microsoft corrects this problem soon and if it affects a lot of people I'm sure they will.
