EXACTLY AS MENTIONED ALREADY. And 1GB pagefile on C:\ is best and is not going to make a difference when he is almost out of space to begin with and will have to do something soon, as he will not even be able to do windows updates, especially a creators pack coming up soon.

I do not try or like being rude and what not, but sitting back as a Monday morning quarterback and giving advice that is a waste of time, can wipe out your OS system or files and send people on a wild goose chase into the abyss thinking oh, this is easy and a cinch, and then knowing the person giving this advice has never even did something remotely close to this before, and if they had and knew what they were talking about, would not even mention such off the wall nonsense to resolve an issue to begin with. Most people that come here with issues, if they can do this with even slight ease, then they would not be here asking about a pagefile and how to move or resolve their issue.

It is much cheaper financially and mentally to buy a new 1TB or 2TB SSD or HDD, back up their files to the external location, even another PC public folder on their home networks, or better yet create a system image and install windows on the new drive and then restore the new drive & new OS with your image and now you have your laptop exactly as it was with the exception you now have mega storage space.

That $60.00 for the drive and maybe 4 hours of work trouble free is well worth all the stress and BS to do anything other than that and know you have not lost anything in the process but $60.00.

Why would it be necessary to buy a bigger drive when the OP already has a terabyte of disk space?  Things can be rearranged, but we don't know how they can be rearranged without knowing about the layout.

    LOL , NOT, NONSENSE

That is not going to happen. if he wants to shrink D:\ drive and knows how to create all the 4 partitions along with the partition that he already has on D:\ with data on it, well good luck to him.

and then why would anyone with a laptop install windows on an external USB drive and then if they go anywhere, they have to haul that around and have additional power source for the USB drive and then the battery for laptop use is useless if there is no power source available to connect your USB OS drive that needs AC power.

    LOL.

I'm sorry, I think I must have missed the part where the OP said that the 1TB drive was external.  You do know, of course, that laptops can be had that have both a relatively small SSD and a larger internal hard drive?

HMMM I guess so, on the top on his post

That is possible, if so, he still has to create the 3 partitions on it along with his already partition with data on it, which is an advanced task for most people and does he know how to shrink the current and then can he get the EFI boot and recovery partition  #1 or #2 partition and C:\ #3 partition while he has data on it already, I am not positive, but I do not think so. Maybe partition magic could do it. All without wiping out his data on D:\ now. Big risk for any person to do even if they are a wiz.
