Windows 10 Spotlight - Strange behavior after Fall Creators Update

1- schermata di blocco impostare immagine o presentazione

2- impostazioni di windows - privacy - app in background - selezionare : foto e/o presentazione

3- cancellare il contenuto di: %USERPROFILE%/AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Windows.ContentDeliveryManager_cw5n1h2txyewy\LocalState\Assets 

4- nella cartella: %USERPROFILE%/AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Windows.ContentDeliveryManager_cw5n1h2txyewy\Settings

rinominare settings.dat in settings.dat.bak

5- riavviare il pc

6- impostazioni di windows - personalizzazione - schermata di blocco - contenuti in evidenza di windows

ps: nella cartella %USERPROFILE%/AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Windows.ContentDeliveryManager_cw5n1h2txyewy\LocalState\Assets  si popolerà di diversi file che corrispondono alle immagini.

Hello I found the solution that I will report below:

1- lock screen sets image or presentation

2- windows settings - privacy - background app - select: photo and / or presentation

3- delete the contents of:% USERPROFILE% / AppData \ Local \ Packages \ Microsoft.Windows.ContentDeliveryManager_cw5n1h2txyewy \ LocalState \ Assets

4- in the folder:% USERPROFILE% / AppData \ Local \ Packages \ Microsoft.Windows.ContentDeliveryManager_cw5n1h2txyewy \ Settings

rename settings.dat to settings.dat.bak

5- restart the PC

6- windows settings - personalization - lock screen - highlights of windows

ps: In the% USERPROFILE% / AppData \ Local \ Packages \ Microsoft.Windows.ContentDeliveryManager_cw5n1h2txyewy \ LocalState \ Assets folder, you will populate different files that accept images.

I think the faster is to delete all assets files then change from spotlight to something else and disable the show picture.  then without nothing else just Lock the screen with windows key + L.  then go back to show pictrue and it will start working.  I think the only big issue is no one actually lock their computer manually after trying this.   only the manual lock fixed the issue for me no matter how many thing I tried.

This is interesting.  I can add that in my situation(solution for me posted earlier), I have never used a pin.  I login with my Microsoft Account password.  In addition, I do not use Cortana at all.

All I can add is that I regularly use a Pin and my Lock Screen shows whatever I choose. Whether it be a chosen picture or a slideshow featuring a chosen FOLDER.

Of course, the picture I see ON my Lock Screen in Settings is the same it has always been. But once I say "Hey Cortana, lock my computer" the slideshow from the folder starts.

Obviously I've never felt the need to fool with "Spotlight" at all.

Well, yep those bugs are unforeseen because no everyone or almost 80% won't use pin setup.  I use Local Account and only enable Online account when I need to post something or windows store.

That's a pretty bold statement, and quite the number to pull out of thin air. I'm a power user and I completely understand some power users doing what you do, but I seriously doubt 80% of the average (IE not exactly tech savy) users out in the real world only use local accounts and go through the hassle of enabling online features only when they need them - which is usually always.

I know plenty of people that use Windows Hello with facial recognition to log into their machine. And that feature requires the setup of a PIN in conjunction with the facial recogniztion. The underlying idea of all the 'connected' features of a MS Account is that they should all work together.

On top of that, I'm only offering a possible option for other people to look at, as none of the posters on this thread seem to have even considered that the method of login could affect Windows Spotlight.

And a bug is a bug regardless of how many (or few) people may use that particular feature.
