I can't believe this either. I bought an Xbox One S controller just so it can slow down my pc. This is just terrible on you Microsoft.
Xbox One S controller causing major performance problems in many games when connected via bluetooth. Need dev attention. Widespread, many examples within.

When connecting the Xbox One S controller via bluetooth, many games suffer performance problems.
This is remedied by plugging it in via usb.
Firmware updates so far have not remedied the problem.
Just a brief anecdotal example before I demonstrate the scope of this problem
Just Cause 3's menu screen is locked to 30fps.
With KB+M: 30fps
XBone S via bluetooth: 22fps
XBone S via usb: 30fps

How do we get some dev attention on this issue? It's widespread and affects many games, and seems to be a driver issue.
I've tried updating from the current live release to the most recent insider build, as well as buying a high end bluetooth adapter. The issue persists, and clearly has nothing to do with me, my config, or anything we as users can do.
I've taken a fresh format, installed Trials Fusion(this game is particularly bad, unplayable over bluetooth0, and could immediately see the issue in play.
I've even swapped GPUs, from AMD to nVidia (not in an attempt to fix this, but it rules out display driver related issues)

2018-09-17T23:57:03+00:00 Created an account just to contribute my 2 cents to this. I also have the bluetooth Xbox One S controller and had been using it just fine for the past year or so. It was only in the last week when I upgraded to a 1440p/165hz Dell S2417DG monitor that this problem developed for me. I was getting TERRIBLE fps drops and stutter in Rocket League, and I found that vibration settings made it worse the higher it was and better the lower or disabled it was but it would still occur. I thought maybe I needed to reinstall my controller drivers from scratch cuz they were encoded with a 60hz refresh rate in mind (just spitballing ideas here..). NOPE still happens. I tried playing another game, A Hat in Time, and noticed the same problems, though not as intense as in Rocket League. It was when I happened to switch to using keyboard & mouse in that game that I noticed BAM my frames shot up to 165fps no problem and there was ZERO input lag. Soon as I touched the controller again and the game said "New input: Xbox" (or something to that affect), stutter and frame drop returned. WTF is going on? I bought these bluetooth controllers because they stated they could be paired with a Win10 PC over bluetooth no problem. Am I the only one that just developed this problem when upgrading monitors? Either way this needs to be fixed. I play the majority of my games on Steam, and majority with K&M, but theres a handful of platformers and driving games that are simply better with a controller, and this is inexcusable from Microsoft. I'm not buying another stupid Microsoft adapter when i already have a bluetooth adapter that this can utilize.

2018-10-01T21:40:43+00:00 Created an account too, didn't know this problem exist years ago. I was playing Naruto Storm 4 Road to Boruto and experiencing stuttering. I know it's a Bluetooth problem because when I plugged it via USB the stuttering is gone.
This problem also causing stuttering in Naruto Shinobi Strikers when it disconnects. I discovered the problem first because of the beeping with mouse cursor freeze.
I bought this because I like Xbox controllers and want to play wireless. Too bad they don't fix it :(
