Xbox One S controller causing major performance problems in many games when connected via bluetooth. Need dev attention. Widespread, many examples within.

When connecting the Xbox One S controller via bluetooth, many games suffer performance problems.

This is remedied by plugging it in via usb.

Firmware updates so far have not remedied the problem.

Just a brief anecdotal example before I demonstrate the scope of this problem

Just Cause 3's menu screen is locked to 30fps.

With KB+M: 30fps

XBone S via bluetooth: 22fps

XBone S via usb: 30fps

How do we get some dev attention on this issue? It's widespread and affects many games, and seems to be a driver issue.

I've tried updating from the current live release to the most recent insider build, as well as buying a high end bluetooth adapter. The issue persists, and clearly has nothing to do with me, my config, or anything we as users can do.

I've taken a fresh format, installed Trials Fusion(this game is particularly bad, unplayable over bluetooth0, and could immediately see the issue in play.

I've even swapped GPUs, from AMD to nVidia (not in an attempt to fix this, but it rules out display driver related issues)

    FIXED

    Bought Xbox One controller two days ago intending on using with PC via Bluetooth.  I experienced literally every problem described in this thread (disconnects, stutter to 5fps in AC: Odyssey, lag in recognizing button inputs, you name it).  Tried enabling Xbox controller config in Steam - no improvement.  Turned out the problem for me was that since I use Ethernet LAN (i.e. not wifi) I didn't have my wifi antenna hooked up to my Gigabyte z390 Aorus Master motherboard.  Well, it's this same antenna that also picks up the Bluetooth signal.

    Hooked up the antenna tonight and instantly all problems disappeared when using Bluetooth.  I hope this helps someone.

    Again, I DO NOT own the Xbox One Wireless Adapter for PC.  I am only using Bluetooth.

    I have an Intel 9260 WiFi card on a PCI Express x1 adapter which I use to connect to the internet and it has BT 5.0 which I have been using for a few weeks and it seems to work well with everything.

    BT 5 is new but hardware is surfacing now and it should mke life easier.

    Guys just use 8BitDo wireless adapter. I gave up on this problem long ago and tried the adapter and it works fine. Seems a big bug on normal bluetooth connection.

    Unbelievable! I also have this issues with latest Win10 over bluetooth. Pricey AND doesn't work over bluetooth as advertised!

    Just wanted to chime in here to keep this alive. I am also having this issue and it drove me nuts for months. I've just built a new PC and I thought something was wrong with it because I was suffering huge frame drops in Rocket League and Fortnite.  My frames would vary wildly and my games would stutter terribly. Sometimes it would be okay and sometimes it was unplayable. I was pretty upset because I thought I'd messed something up with my build.

    Luckily I just happened to be switching between keyboard/mouse and controller while in a game of Fortnite and finally discovered the culprit. I just about cried.

    Anyway, does anyone know if this issue can happen with Playstation controllers? Gonna pick up a DS4 I think. It's a shame because I've always played on Xbox but what can you do.

    Look guys, I just made this MS account, just to reiterate that this problem still persists. And to my surprise, this is actually a 2-year-old issue!  I bought a brand new XOne S Controller, not knowing all the problem its bluetooth has, and I can't play PES above 10 FPS ingame. Playing Dark Souls 3 and my character just running around even when I am not moving the stick! Just insane MS! 

    Yeah, wired connection is buttery smooth, but please don't do false advertisement with the bluetooth connection capability. It's non-existent at this rate.

    I should have bought another PS4 controller for my PC in the first place.
