When connecting the Xbox One S controller via bluetooth, many games suffer performance problems.
This is remedied by plugging it in via usb.
Firmware updates so far have not remedied the problem.
Just a brief anecdotal example before I demonstrate the scope of this problem
Just Cause 3's menu screen is locked to 30fps.
With KB+M: 30fps
XBone S via bluetooth: 22fps
XBone S via usb: 30fps

How do we get some dev attention on this issue? It's widespread and affects many games, and seems to be a driver issue.
I've tried updating from the current live release to the most recent insider build, as well as buying a high end bluetooth adapter. The issue persists, and clearly has nothing to do with me, my config, or anything we as users can do.
I've taken a fresh format, installed Trials Fusion(this game is particularly bad, unplayable over bluetooth0, and could immediately see the issue in play.
I've even swapped GPUs, from AMD to nVidia (not in an attempt to fix this, but it rules out display driver related issues)

Wow. I had no idea this was a thing.
I was getting horrible frame drops in a few games (mostly Ubisoft titles but some others). Trials Fusion would see drops to 8 FPS despite having a pretty beast rig. Games were running at standard resolution and settings (i.e. 1080p/High settings)

I was using a bluetooth Xbox controller and didn't think anything of it.
I switched to my backup Xbox Wireless dongle and (so far) my frame rates have improved dramatically!
Same here. Experienced 5-15 frame drops in AC Origins while using controller over bluetooth. I updated my controller with the latest update and no change. Tried switching back to official wireless adapter and the game was running great again. I haven't tested to see if the issue persists in other games yet. I'm using Windows 10 with anniversary update installed.
I have the same issue, i bought an xbox one S controller recently and at first performed very well but then i noticed the fps loss and stutter in wolfenstein II. I thought it was the batteries but after replacing them the issue continued... What is causing this? This didn't happen with the xbox 360 controller, i regret changing to this thing...
It’s not an 1809 issue. The problem has been around for years. There’s something wrong with the Microsoft bluetooth drivers for this controller. If you override the drivers using Steam’s controller support and still connect with Bluetooth the problem goes away.
Please can you share the steps on how to do this?
Still not fixed. Please respond Microsoft, you advertise these controllers as, "featur[ing] Bluetooth® for easy wireless gaming on Windows 10 devices". Many people, including myself, are here to say that this claim is not true.
