There is no email program associated to perform this requested action. Please install a email program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default program in Control Panel ?

GO TO MSN.COM AND LOOK FOR OUTLOOK.COM AT THE TOP LEFT OF THE SCREEN. YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO CONNECT THAT WAY. GOOD LUCK AND GOD BLESS.

my issue is not that I'm unable to connect.  If you look at my message, I have Mail installed and working and it is a default app for email. My issue is that somehow it is not recognized as a default program. I'd like to correct exactly this issue, I don't want Outlook instead of Mail.

I followed the link above https://www.kapilarya.com/there-is-no-email-program-associated-to-perform-the-requested-action-windows-10. I started Regedit and saw that there was no entry for Outlook there. There was an entry for Hotmail instead which I deleted. I also noticed that there was no entry for Mail in there, so after deleting the Hotmail branch the Clients\Mail folder became empty .

The default program for Email in Settings is Mail as recommended. Mail for Windows 10 is installed OK and I'm using it. Nevertheless when I try Send to from File Explorer, I'm still getting this annoying message. Is it because there's no entry for Mail in registry? How do I restore it?

It's in the Cortana settings, it has nothing to do with email accounts. I have disabled Cortana and now the problem has been solved.

On Windows 10, go to Settings, Cortana, Permissions & History, Manage the information Cortana can access from this device. Turn off Contact, email, calendar & communications history.

I think it's the case where the cure is worse than the desease :-)

Thanks, your solution has fixed this problem on my brand new Windows 10 laptop. It did take a bit of searching in the "Cortana" settings but I found them under "Permission and History" and then "Manage the information Cortana can access". Thanks again for your valuable advise.
