There is no email program associated to perform this requested action. Please install a email program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default program in Control Panel ?

I have tried this already, may have been the first thing I did.

I am having the same issue.  I looked at your regedit fix, but I don't have Outlook there.  I only have Hotmail and Windows Mail.

I am using the Send to email command from my pictures folder.  I have tried setting the default for gmail app and chrome and I have set the protocol file type setting for gmail.  

Nothing seems to work.  I still get the same message.

I cannot send a item via email after I right click then click send. no associated email acct.  I have one under yahoo and in one drive neither accepted as associated.  I tried the regedit  but when I get to the point where it lists the apps none show up. any other suggestions, please!  Thank you, Kim

Unfortunately Kim, I lost my notes on this matter.  I cannot remember how I fixed it.  If you could copy and paste my notes, I may be able to back track and figure it out.  I do know if you are using win 10 mail program (not outlook), my research has shown that you cannot send an attachment within excel, word etc, you will get that error message.  My problem was I was having problems with outlook 2007, which i corrected.  I have since had to send laptop in for warranty work and have not attempted to load 2007 up again.
