Hi,
there is a problem with laptops which have Intel iGPU + GTX 1050/1050Ti/1060/1070. The problem is whenever you perform some action on the OS, discrete GPU is triggered and it causes a 0.5s freeze.
Some actions, which causes the dGPU to wake up and lock up the whole system for about 0,5 seconds are:
Since the problem was OS based, it could be found on all laptop brands: ASUS, Acer, Clevo, Dell, Gigabyte, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft, MSI, Razer.

Hi everyone,
With the latest KB4284848 the problem is partially solved. The community and I have tested the build and we can confirm that it fixes most of the freezes.
There are still some problems though. Some freezes left within the Edge browser
and File Explorer. Please post your feedback!

I've got the same issue, first with my acer aspire a717, i7 7700HQ, 1060 6Gb. I ended up returning it because of this frustrating problem. I then bought an HP pavilion power with gtx 1050ti and spoiler alert... it got the same stuttering problem, even the sound stutters wtf!
i'll return this one too on monday when the issue isn't resolved.
My advice is to wait till AMD Laptops come out. Microsoft, i'm so disapointed, lot of waisted time.

i purchased the acer A717 with an i7 7700hq/gtx1060, and it has this issue... i had to return it cause i thought it was a hardware problem, then i got an hp pavilion power with i7 7700hq/gtx 1050ti and spoiler alert it has the same issue.
It is a serious problem that obviously affects many people. Just what are the chances that i get 2 laptops from different manufacturers and bingo... i get the same problem with a brand new Laptop... i'm thinking about returning it on monday, and wait for amd laptops to show up in germany.
lenovo legion y720 , (gtx 1060 and intel 630 - 7700hq proc.), same problem, stuttering, micro freezes, both video and audio... Intel, microsoft, nvidia, get working!
Also, isn't it weird that all those reviewers, youtubers, review websites, etc., never mentioned this issue?! I wonder if laptop manufacturers don't actually know of a subset of their products that are more susceptible to this bug (maybe possibly faulty intel and/or nvidia chips) and only send review samples that works flawlessly/were tested against this particular bug?!
I dunno, had I known this was what I would be getting myself into, I'd definitely would have postponed buying a laptop late 2017, maybe wait for a new architecture, for AMD driven laptops, etc.
So I'm not saying - go bother the youtube videographers of the world, or the review websites, but I'm pretty sure that if at least some of those people jumped on our bandwagon and made some noise things would find a way to be resolved faster.
I dunno, maybe we're not enough people to to be taken seriously, but I really wish we had some Linus or Dave2D or Tom's Hardware or whoever else on our side to at least acknowledge this whole mess of a bug, if anything just for some closure.

May be this is the reason for the rise of high end AMD graphic card. New dell XPS 15 comes AMD GPU. New atlas, a tech magazine also quoted “a brand-new combination we're seeing a lot in Las Vegas this week #CES2018” about AMD.
If they start launching laptops with AMD GPU, then they won’t care about us.
So, here is my point. These companies are selling millions and millions of laptops with bugs. If we could stop the sale before the rise of AMD laptops, then they might think about us.
Someone make a good content for YouTube comments and emails with proof links so that everyone could copy paste things. I’m bad at English.
This post was created on june,2017 and still Microsoft is taking a long time because no knows about this issue unlike “spectrum and meltdown” until they buy a laptop. Let them know!!
Yes, the impact is low. But you won’t understand our feelings unless we do something.
Let’s do something we are not alone. Its 608 now. Start spreading this issue unless Microsoft obtains the solution.
