Hi,
there is a problem with laptops which have Intel iGPU + GTX 1050/1050Ti/1060/1070. The problem is whenever you perform some action on the OS, discrete GPU is triggered and it causes a 0.5s freeze.
Some actions, which causes the dGPU to wake up and lock up the whole system for about 0,5 seconds are:
Since the problem was OS based, it could be found on all laptop brands: ASUS, Acer, Clevo, Dell, Gigabyte, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft, MSI, Razer.
This is nearly a three-year-old bug:

Hi everyone,
With the latest KB4284848 the problem is partially solved. The community and I have tested the build and we can confirm that it fixes most of the freezes.
There are still some problems though. Some freezes left within the Edge browser
and File Explorer. Please post your feedback!

Sad to hear. The tray app did always help so far.
Yes, it makes me sad as well. Inhad the surface pro 4 and loved it and now i just wanted an upgrade. I do love the book but it is useless if you cant work or play with it fluently.
Now i ordered a gaming laptop and have to say goodbye to the book :(
why decides a company like microsoft to combine components wich do not are in harmony with each other?
This makes me really sad. Brand new SB2 15" that i will now have to return. Lost hours of work this morning because of thia issue. 4000+ replies on this topic and MS doesnt seem to care about the issue and their not warning users.
What good is a high-powered dGPU of your system crashes anytime a program tries to use it?
Such a shame.

What are you talking about...
I don't have this issue btw on a Dell XPS 15 9570 laptop. Just am using latest Intel and Nvidia drivers and there is no switch freeze anymore since now 2-3 months. No freeze anywhere, Chrome, Explorer, Photoshop, ect. Make sure these apps are all set to use internal GPU in the Nvidia preferences.
