Hi, there is a problem with laptops which have Intel iGPU + GTX 1050/1050Ti/1060/1070. The problem is whenever you perform some action on the OS, discrete GPU is triggered and it causes a 0.5s freeze. Some actions, which causes the dGPU to wake up and lock up the whole system for about 0,5 seconds are: Right click on desktop Left click on battery-icon in task-bar Opening Chrome-browser Opening Windows Image Viewer (app + classic Foto viewer) Opening system control panel Provocation any animation on task bar (e.g. thumbnail-preview, ...) Muratkayablk: Thanks for the help, it worked with SDI Driver. And after I have installed the latest NVIDIA Driver making the dGPU to switch off and on. Just as I thought Windows 8.1 does NOT trigger the dGPU for desktop tasks, it keeps it off, resulting no freezes. Tested with NVIDIA Optimus State Viewer. But taking the investigation further I have installed Photoshop and Rocket League. And amazingly it does not have the switch freeze... this is didn't expect and for me this is GREAT NEWS, it means that it is not a hardware problem and it can be fixed by Drivers or Microsoft. Although I said NVIDIA is responsible, now I can't say that anymore.. And I am not convinced that Windows is to blame all the way, because the drivers on Windows 8.1 for Intel (chipset and graphics) were different and the new drivers for Windows 10 can be in conflict with the NVIDIA drivers. Or Windows totally screwed this, which would be the stupidest thing ever. But in any cases why the hell they don't cooperate and fix this already, it's beyond stupid and ridiculous. The solution is there, Windows 8.1 works without any Freeze. To bad win8.1 has all those incompatibility issues and doesn't allow security updates. Best solution till now is TrayPwrD3 and we can thank josub01 for the help. And with that being said... Microsoft, where is your solution for this? I already told him to contact Lenovo support. As for this thread's problem, someone needs to contact a boss in Microsoft because these useless 'support' employees will not solve this issue and since Intel claims to have 'fixed' it on their side (by not invoking the dGPU on the right click, which is stupid) I believe the real cause is Windows 10 invoking the dGPU in places it shouldn't. Microsoft should fix this!

Hi,
