Hey I was looking back a couple pages and didn't see, but this issue is fixed for me on the latest Windows Insider Build 17643 (Skip Ahead). I just upgraded and every Windows update build reverts my Intel driver to 4574, but this time, no lag. I open battery icon (no lag), open Chrome (no lag) and of course open Display Settings which of course results in no lag. My Nvidia 1050ti is at version 9135. I have the Dell 7567 laptop and this has been plaging me from the start. Hope others have the same result.
[Partially Fixed] Intel + NVIDIA Laptop Freeze Problem
Hi,
there is a problem with laptops which have Intel iGPU + GTX 1050/1050Ti/1060/1070. The problem is whenever you perform some action on the OS, discrete GPU is triggered and it causes a 0.5s freeze.
Some actions, which causes the dGPU to wake up and lock up the whole system for about 0,5 seconds are:
- Right click on desktop
- Left click on battery-icon in task-bar
- Opening Chrome-browser
- Opening Windows Image Viewer (app + classic Foto viewer)
- Opening system control panel
- Provocation any animation on task bar (e.g. thumbnail-preview, ...)
- Loading a new tab in Firefox
Since the problem was OS based, it could be found on all laptop brands: ASUS, Acer, Clevo, Dell, Gigabyte, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft, MSI, Razer.
This is nearly a three-year-old bug:

Hi everyone,
With the latest KB4284848 the problem is partially solved. The community and I have tested the build and we can confirm that it fixes most of the freezes.
There are still some problems though. Some freezes left within the Edge browser
and File Explorer. Please post your feedback!

2017-10-28T20:19:53+00:00 OK. Here is a solution to right click:
Go to regedit and remove those two entries:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\igfxcui HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\igfxDTCMRestart and voila! You don't have a freeze on right click anymore. It was this easy for right click.Once again, this shows us how moron, how idiot, how irresponsible Microsoft is. Once again, **** you Microsoft! **** you!Since this issue was solved with removing Intel entry from the right click, I will open a thread on Intel forums. Maybe they have something to do with this.

2018-01-10T17:56:54+00:00 **Is Problem worse than described:**Yes, problem is not only right clicking. Op will update soon i guess.
Impact level: Customers of every manufacturer who are using following configuration:
- Lastest gen notebooks with intel+nvidia graphics card which uses optimus
- Windows 10 (Updated)
Problems: Freezing on openning folders, openning various applications, fast-switching apps, task manager, battery indicator, start menu, settings, list goes to infinity.
How to mitigate: Turn off all the animations and visual effects. Removing some entries on redegit etc.
How to completely remove the bug: Only possible way to do this is disable dgpu on device settings every-time you do not need dgpu, re-enable it if you need it again. Thousands of people doing this right now. Solution is not feasible and impossible when you are using 2nd display.
Op, can you update first post according Jason suggestions.
Edit: Youtube video provided on reddit shows other repros causing freeze and it is just a very small subset of all repro.

2017-06-30T21:04:47+00:00 For GS63VR 7RF, I actually did an upgrade from 1607 sorry for misinforming. I will install 1703 RTM on my GS43VR when I get it back and inform you.
I usually follow those steps:
- UEFI Install OS
- Chipset software install with -overall command
- Intel HD Graphics Install
- NVIDIA install.
