Hi,
there is a problem with laptops which have Intel iGPU + GTX 1050/1050Ti/1060/1070. The problem is whenever you perform some action on the OS, discrete GPU is triggered and it causes a 0.5s freeze.
Some actions, which causes the dGPU to wake up and lock up the whole system for about 0,5 seconds are:
Since the problem was OS based, it could be found on all laptop brands: ASUS, Acer, Clevo, Dell, Gigabyte, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft, MSI, Razer.

With the latest KB4284848 the problem is partially solved. The community and I have tested the build and we can confirm that it fixes most of the freezes.
There are still some problems though. Some freezes left within the Edge browser
and File Explorer. Please post your feedback!

I am watching all those laptop reviews, people saying they had the device for 2-3 weeks, they talk about keyboard, screen, fps, how amazing the laptop is bla bla bla, and NO ONE, NO ONE wants to tell the truth. If they are really using that device for so long its not possible that they dont see all of the problems optimus is causing. Is someone paying them to keep quiet? If yes, we are really in a deep sh.......
Guys, you have to know that i had this problem with freeze even on Lenovo Z570 (i7-2670QM, Nvidia 540M) on Windows 10 (about 1-2 months ago)... So i think this problem is connected with Windows and Nvidia Optimus, but not only with new gen processors (like 6th,7th). Now i have Dell Inspiron 7577 (i5-7300hq, gtx 1060 max-q) and mouse freeze is still present. I've noticed when i delete Nvidia drivers (graphic card), the problem disappears.
problem is from everyone including manufacturers. Anyone who tolerate this is forger.

They don't care, no one cares. This is a minor issue to all of them, they will start thinking about it when you slap them will a class-action lawsuit. Until that time this issue will never be fixed.
Ok, that being said, I went back to windows 8.1. And there are no freezes here, when you open adjust image settings in nvidia, dgpu is ON, not fast switching idle/on/idle/on like in windows 10. Its not being triggered by right click, opening explorer from taskbar, closing chrome (new problem in 1803, worst update to date!). And the battery life is now doubled! BUT this is true if I install drivers ONLY from windows update(No nvidia physics software, and no geforce experience) !
If I update nvidia to new version I get back all of the idle triggers, right click on programs, opening explorer,videos in chrome and so on. Plus you have the same issue if you use intel chipset device software, and install those aditional chipset drivers in system devices, those are all pci express, smbus, xenon processor entries in device manager. I don't know if this will help anyone but I wanted to add it here.
P.s I forgot how fast win 8.1 is, plus you have full control over everything, just install classic shell and its 10x better than windows 10. So far so good!
