Yesterday the game worked fine, but now today on July 7th when I launch the game to play, I get the error message saying "check your account" when my account is fine, so I tried to restart the PC and didn't worked, then when I uninstall the game to reinstall, I can't reinstall it because it keeps giving me the same error message with this error code: 0x803F8001. I even runned wsreset.exe to clear the cache, restore the Windows store to default and restarted the PC again, but nothing worked. I can install other apps and games with no problem.

Any help would be appreciated, please.

the main Problem is the store and the account - simply get a new ms account for tempoary download and use your own account after download to start an Play game ... have fun ... best greetz eddl69

Microsoft is not responsible for the behavior of products from third-party vendors.

If there is a problem with Microsoft programs etc. THEN they can be expected to deal with it...or not. They are also entitled to change or discontinue whatever for any reason.

NOW, I'm going to go much further into the thread and see if there is a common point such as just getting an update before this failure started.

And I would recommend that you all do an INTERNET SEARCH or read you computer sites to see if they have an idea.

I will let you know that a recent ROLLUP update has affected IE 11 in that it crashes frequently on some sites. I removed that (I use 7) and still have some troubles. The rollup I suspect was issued at around the time you've all been pointing to for the start of your problems.

IF websites as well as GAMES are failing, could the bad update have parts related to ACTIVEX...?

ONE MORE IDEA. Some of you stated that this game is 'hacked all the time'.

Do you SUPPOSE that the company that makes the game has introduced anti-cheating code that is crashing those with signs of unfair play?

Maybe a few of you are feeling these measures by accident. But maybe as well the statistics etc. were reset to zero so that everyone would be level and no unfair advantages?

When you play online with others, they should have the same chance as you at the games. Game companies are cracking down on cheats. You don't just by the game, you agree to follow the rules and if you don't you shouldn't expect a cakewalk.

Think about it. You are probably young and forming your ethics. This is one place it starts.

IN RESPONSE TO "RN" aka "registered user"

    hi

#1 "Microsoft is not responsible for the behavior of products from third-party vendors."

YES they are if purchases/ services are PROVIDED BY Microsoft Store. All the problems with the Asphalt 8 game (as well as other apps/games people have posted with same issue) are at least due in part to MICROSOFT O.S./STORE. As you've read I'm sure, people kept saying create local account for WINDOWS (store, etc) and yada yada through many steps the game WILL reinstall and come up BUT with issues... so if it is NOT due at least in part to Microsoft then WHY is the issue revolving around creating a "local account" on  the MICROSOFT OS/STORE? --cause it IS partly them.

I don't know what happened or why or when it will if ever be fixed but ....yeah.. fun since Friday.

#2"If there is a problem with Microsoft programs etc. THEN they can be expected to deal with it...or not. They are also entitled to change or discontinue whatever for any reason."

Sure, it IS their discretion on games/apps THEY OFFER in the store BUT that makes my point. There IS a problem with MICROSOFT O.S./Store. THEY are SUPPOSE to be "dealing" with it and GAMELOFT as well!

Friday afternoon (pacific standard time) I went to M.S. support Chat - hours later - game would work but rep screwed with my system and now it's not the same! I wish I would've just waited as was NOT worth screwing up my laptop which worked great until this! The rep walked through via Remote access.. creating "local account" (without asking me for a name etc, btw) then logged out of my MAIN REGULAR MS ACCOUNT and logged in with local account.. Yeah great the game downloaded and came up but it was not connected to xbox (because you have to be logged into a MS account) or facebook so it was wanting to start with new game! NO! so I said..hold on... but she ignored me and kept working on my system..

I told the rep AGAIN that all I had to do was log in to my facebook to enable cloud.. rep said.. ok.. so I did and of course retrieved MY CLOUD data for my regular asphalt game BUT my system is now totally messed up! I was so tired from all the hassles I didn't even realize it until later.. i.e. even though I went back and signed in to my regular MS account.. my downloads and other stuff are going to the OLD local acct she created.. AGH

SO, that WAS MICROSOFT WINDOWS10 SUPPORT and rep said she had dealt with the issue all that day. My desktop WAS working that early morning that has the creators update but yesterday I started it up and SAME problem! I thought NO I AM NOT GOING TO MS SUPPORT again for this or it will be screwed up too! Sooo.. I uninstalled the stupid game.. created my own local account..RESET STORE CACHE -logged out of main.. back into the local .. RESET STORE CACHE AGAIN went to MS website to get which of course brings up store -it downloaded and works BUT STILL acting up. AND THIS IS BECAUSE MS STORE/GAMELOFT HAVEN'T FIXED what the heck ever started all this!!

M.S. O.S./STORE AND GAMELOFT'S ASPHALT 8 is STILL an issue..

I still have to figure out HOW TO FIX my laptop account now to undue some of the crud the rep did to it.

    good luck all.

    ROFLMAO

#1 "Do you SUPPOSE that the company that makes the game has introduced anti-cheating code that is crashing those with signs of unfair play?"

I WISH THEY WOULD DO THAT! GET RID OF ALL THE STUPID HACKERS! BUT NO.. THEY don't..from what I've read this has been going on for YEARS. I've been playing less than a year. I did have Asphalt 7 a while back and that is how I knew the name so I decided to check out the 8:Airborne version and liked it much better but wasn't aware of all the hacking that was going on as I was a REAL NOOB..now I'm just a semi-noob 8 months or so in.. lol

#2 "When you play online with others, they should have the same chance as you at the games."

Yeah! I WISH that was so... but I seriously doubt that! BTW these issues are with windows players and a VAST majority of people use cell phones /tablets that are NOT windows.. so..no I don't think so but would be ok with me. I have a a hard enough time trying to play the game with many disadvantages.. let alone with the cheaters/hackers.. I would think all these global hackers would have something much better to do..

I just decided to visit this forum for any updates.. we the people are the only ones who are trying to address this mess. LOL

    Good  morning..btw.

    Have a great day! I
