Microsoft games are "currently not available in your account"

I've been playing Solitare, Mahjong, Minesweeper, Taptiles, Jigsaw, and Sudoku daily for a long time. Starting yesterday afternoon with Minesweeper, I'm getting a "currently not available in your account" error from some of them. I tried uninstalling Minesweeper and now I cannot re-download for the same reason (it errors when trying to acquire the license from the Windows store). Today, Mahjong and Jigsaw started with the same behavior. As of right now, the only games that will load are Solitare, Taptiles and Sudoku. Xbox app loads fine. The store is able to download and install other apps and games without a problem. Everything else appears to be working fine.

This is on a first generation Surface Book (i5/256/dGPU), all current updates installed (I'm on the creator's update build of Win10). I have a separate desktop PC I have yet to check to see if the problem exists there, too.

I have tried wsreset and a reboot, but I refuse to re-register the store via command line. The last time I tried that, my store ended up so broken I had to do a total OS refresh and reinstall all my software. I don't have time for that right now.

    Yes, Microsoft certainly should have posted something in this thread, at least to reassure us that they are working on it.  As I posted yesterday, my Mahjong is now working, but obviously many of you are still having issues.

    The install under another MS account solution has been posted before and supposedly works. But it's also not a fantastic solution, considering you have to create another MS account if you don't already have more than one to use. You then have to remember that you have that other MS account in the future ... since they're connected to email addresses (or you create a new email address in the process... another not-so-ideal solution).

    The troubleshooters on their own don't do anything (resetting the store doesn't do anything, I must've done it 20 times). I also ran the windows update troubleshooter 5-10 times. Neither helped. In the end, the games just started working again on their own.

    I still believe this is Microsoft's problem. I can't explain why some of us have had our games just start working again (mine are still OK today), but that seems to be the case. For those still affected, hopefully it is fixed soon.

    In my case Microsoft had uninstalled Magic Jigsaw Puzzles, but I found that not only had it reinstalled itself but had also mysteriously reinstated the status of the number of Puzzles I had completed. I'm at a loss to understand how tis happened especially as my computer was in sleep mode at the time.

    Indeed - I checked the Store today and was able to download and install Mahjong (2 minutes ago). I also would like to say that it was not only Games. I also had some random issues with WU. Yesterday I even had to download and install standalone Update package KB4025342 (to Build OS 15063.483) directly from Microsoft Update Catalog because WU returned the same error.

    Anyway - good thing that MS fixed the issue, bad thing - they did not say a word in this thread.

    My Mahjong has just started working again.  I did not do anything either.  My MS Ultimate Word Games and Solitaire had continued to work fine, it was only Mahjong that had stopped working.  I'm happy it's now working, long may it continue!

    Hello everyone

    I had the exact same error and spent 3 days trying to figure it out.

    I reset the store and added cache to Microsoft store hidden folder in apps data and still could not download the Microsoft mahjong after uninstalling the game.

    This is what worked for me.

    Reset the store using the troubleshooter in the link below and added the cache folder as well

    Then created a new Microsoft account (Hotmail or outlook)

    Then I set up a new user login by following the instructions here and stopped at number 5 then I used the account and password I just make for the new Microsoft account

    Switched to the new user by doing control alt delete and Switch User.

    then I downloaded Microsoft Mahjong into the new account.

    After it downloaded I played one game

    Then I switched back to original account and was able to download the Microsoft Mahjong game without getting the error message on acquiring license.

    Now I am back playing my Mahjong

    I then Deleted the new user account login
