Windows phone discontinued?

are they still losing $ on Surface? I figured, but since Microsoft doesn't release sales $ anymore for it, I couldn't find it. 

I have had the chance to play with the Axon. Ok phone, but the dual screen with the huge gaping area between screens ruins in. plus how it closes, with the screens on the outside. waiting for repairs. 

The Surface phone is alot like the dead and soon to be buried consumer AR device from Microsoft. 

I'd say you are more likely to see a Microsoft Android phone before a portable Windows device, or whatever it is.

With the current product norm and business model, a new smartphone competitor would be a loss maker. There must be new technology and / or innovation to create disruption. I am happy with my 950XL. The battery is still in good shape. The screen is comparable to new phones. Dual SIM. Memory expansion. If Microsoft made a foldable version, I would definitely buy it. But it would essentially be the same thing as a phone and selling phones isn't enough for profitability. Apps and subscriptions must be sold through the device. I am using a paid  navigation app, Office 365 and there is the Netflix app which I subscribe not to watch on the phone unless I am desperately bored. That's all Microsoft makes from me through the phone. Yet they still support the device and update it. All native apps are clockwork. That is loyalty to the customer.

Android makes a living as an advertisement agency. iPhone is an accessory first with a price tag in line and it has a millennial base that spends money on trivial apps. 

If they make a Surface phone, I'll buy it. I don't think they are supposed to as a business, but they spent money on things before. After all, there would be patents other phone makers might have to pay, etc.

My more realistic expectation is toward the HoloLens. Not now, but perhaps few years later. When it becomes smaller and lighter, it will be a fantastic companion to a phone in the pocket. There are endless possibilities in such product bundle.

If I can use it as a phone then it is a phone. Personal opinion.

If the Andromeda device comes, I will get because it will be awesome. There is no question that they are working on something. The question is will it come to fruition. Maybe not but if it does then it might be the icing on the cake. It is all rumor and speculation at this point but I have huge confidence in the Surface team and if it can be successful, they will be the ones to do it.

From what I recall, the ZTE Axon M has a heavy,  awkward to use device. If Microsoft were to come out with a Surface device, the design would be easy to use. The real question is software. If they cannot provide it then it will not happen. They learned that lesson already!

I've told MS what to do on a few forums:  "Get rid of Satya Nadella, keep Windows Phones."  Nobody listened.

It's the  "Goldilocks" syndrome, only she can never find just the right temperature.  Excuse me, call it what you will; constipation, stagnation........leads always in the wrong direction.  Waste & want.
