Am thinking about getting Windows Phone. However, keep hearing rumors about Microsoft discontinuing Windows phones. Worth the purchase? Am on Verizon

Well said. After reading the post, I feel there is very little to lose for, Microsoft. They have already failed in the, mobile phone arena. However, they are thriving in many other mediums. The, "Surface" was to fail according to many, but it was and is a profound product for Microsoft and continues to get better. Take another chance, "Microsoft" is all I am saying.
I originally bought a Nokia 635 and upgraded to a 650 when Windows 10 came out. I was considering a 950xl with dual sim and continuum but now I'm getting mixed messages on the direction this is going. I ruled out iPhone long ago as I watched then and continue to today customers waiting in line for hours after new updates crash their Phones and if you live far from a service center tough. IPad minis are fine but not a phone. Surface Pro? Maybe. It seems to be a combo smart phone/laptop. But i can't do anything until i know. Too bad they are not a privately owned Enterprise instead of a corporation. Corporations are just too slow to respond
Here's where I am in regards to MOBILE devices:
1.) Microsoft........is NOT going to make them anymore.
2.). Apple.....there are only TWO locations in the State of Oklahoma.
3.). Google/Android.......it is reported that Google/Alphabet is CORRUPT & working with the CIA.
Please, tell me where my logic is wrong.

No, don't do it. The Windows 10 phone was a great concept (moving from phone to PC/Tablet/Laptop without missing a beat). And I still love the idea of being able to run my phone aps on my PC--but Microsoft just gave up...I do not know --YouTube has a Surface pro phone--but unable to confirm with Microsoft
My Windows 10 phone die---I could not longer get updates due to lack of storage space--and the SD card did not help because most aps you can't save on your SD card..
Most banking, business, and new apps don't work on Windows 10 phone.
I agree. After a 1020 and a 640XL I am tired of the software disasters. The latest was replacing the Lumia camera with the Microsoft camera. The Microsoft camera just doesn't work - after a few photos it locks up on "saving". This has been reported for almost two years, and the FEEDBACK hub is staffed by a robot which asks for a model number and then never replies.
If Microsoft is releasing another phone, I wont be in the queue the night before. Come to think of it, nobody will be.
